  • Patent number: 11667425
Abstract: A labeling apparatus includes a rotating vacuum drum and a pair of vacuum holders on the drum that are switched by rotating switches between a working position for gluing labels and a rest position in which the vacuum holders avoid an application of glue. Actuators cause the switches to transition between operating positions. Stationary switch controllers initiate transitions between the operating positions of the switch, thereby causing the holders to transition between their two positions.

  • Patent number: 11613037
Abstract: A cutting unit comprising a cutting drum, a drum knife, a counterpart knife, and a double-joint controller that controls swiveling about a first joint, which swivels the counterpart knife between a cutting position and a waiting position, and swiveling about a second joint, which permits adjustment of a knife gap that forms between the counterpart knife and the drum knife in the cutting position. The drum knife is disposed on a circumference of the drum such that rotation of the drum guides the drum knife past the counterpart knife to cut a label when the counterpart knife is in the cutting position. In the waiting position, the counterpart knife is out of active engagement with the drum knife. The second joint permits adjustment of the knife gap such that the knife gap remains adjusted independently of swiveling about the first joint.

  • Patent number: 11535413
Abstract: A vacuum drum for container labeling includes vacuum holders for holding a label. Each holder has a bistable rotational switch that switches between operating positions as a result of its switch actuator interacting with stationary switches during the drum's rotation. In one operating position, a label receives glue from a glue station. In the other, the holders avoid engagement with the glue station.

  • Patent number: 11434035
Abstract: A container-labeling apparatus includes a label-strip feeder having a vacuum drum and a vacuum cylinder that has vacuum regions extending between different angular ranges. A first vacuum source provides the vacuum at the vacuum drum and a second vacuum source provides the vacuum at the vacuum cylinder. During operation, the vacuum regions provide different under-pressures.

  • Patent number: 10293967
Abstract: An apparatus for labeling a container includes a label-strip feed that provides a label strip having individual labels to be separated by cutting. A first portion of the strip abuts a first transfer-device that causes slippage between the first portion and itself. A cutting device cuts a length of the strip to create a cut label. A portion of the length abuts a second transfer-portion prior to cutting. A holding force generated by this second transfer-device causes slippage between the portion of the length and the second transfer-device. After the cutting device creates the cut label, it transports the cut label. Either one of the two transfer-devices is a linearly-conveying transfer device.

  • Patent number: 10138015
Abstract: A process for using a first labeling system that is a constituent of a block-form first container-handling includes, before switching between said labeling and non-labeling modes of a labeling unit thereof, providing a control signal to a control unit that controls the labeling machine, the control signal being indicative of a gap in container flow. the control signal occurs before the gap in container flow reaches a container inlet of the first labeling system.

  • Patent number: 10093502
Abstract: A label cutter comprises a movable cutting blade, a pre-tensioning device, and a trigger. The pre-tensioning device pre-tensions the cutting blade into an arrested position. Upon its release, the cutting blade moves from the arrested position to a cutting position for cutting a label strip. In the arrested position, the cutting blade is retracted behind a component of the cutter.

  • Patent number: 10035619
Abstract: A container treatment machine has treatment positions provided on a circumferential transport element rotating about a vertical machine axis. Each has a container carrier, a centering element, an aggregate, a control valve, and an actuation element. The treatment position clamps empty containers with a clamping force between the carrier and the cone. The actuation element generates the container clamping force. The control valve controls flow through the channel. Containers lying in a sealed position against the centering cone are loaded with pressure medium that travels through the channel to generate a container-stabilizing internal pressure. The control valve, which is in the centering element, causes container pre-tensioning by being opened by a container clamping force that acts between the centering cone and the container to pretension the container.
