  • Publication number: 20080260619
Abstract: A process for carrying out an optionally catalyst-assisted hydrogen chloride oxidation process by means of oxygen is described. The process comprises single- or multi-stage cooling of the process gases and separating off of unreacted hydrogen chloride and water of reaction from the process gas, drying of the product gases, separating off of chlorine from the mixture and recycling of the unreacted oxygen into the hydrogen chloride oxidation process, at least some of the heat content of the product gases being used for recovery of heat and at least some of the coldest gas streams being used for cooling in the process.

  • Publication number: 20070289722
Abstract: A device for cooling hot gases (quencher) with the formation of a corrosive condensation product, which device has a pressure-resistant container and at least one corrosion-resistant internal gas guide pipe, and to a method of cooling gases that form corrosive condensation products, which method uses the mentioned device.

  • Patent number: 6675844
Abstract: Method of dispensing moist, sticky or statically charged bulk material into a fluid pervious container having an opening for receiving said bulk material, which comprises conveying a bulk material, as a suspension or dispersion in a fluid, from a reservoir, and introducing said suspension or dispersion into the fluid-pervious container through said opening in the container to pass the fluid component of the suspension or dispersion through and out of the fluid-pervious container while the retaining the bulk material within the container, and recirculating the fluid to the reservoir.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2002
Date of Patent: January 13, 2004
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Publication number: 20020099163
Abstract: A process for producing polycarbonate is disclosed. Accordingly a pre-reaction mixture containing a bis(hydroxyaryl) compound and a diaryl carbonate is formed and introduced through the top of a reactive rectification column under condition calculated to bring about a reaction. The resulting hydroxyaryl is eliminated and diaryl carbonate in vapor form is introduced at the bottom of the reactive rectification column.
