  • Patent number: 9091669
Abstract: A gas sensor is used for detecting gas in the air, especially formaldehyde. The sensor comprises at least one gas-sensitive zone which is preferably a layer on a substrate and which contains the ternary compound In4Sn3O12 as the gas-sensitive material. In order to produce the gas-sensitive zone, a flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) is carried out, organometallic compounds of indium and tin being used as the reactants. The gas sensor is especially suitable for online gas detection.

  • Publication number: 20120094030
Abstract: Method of producing a gas sensor includes positioning a sensor substrate in a flame spray pyrolysis apparatus, generating an aerosol phase with sensing material nanoparticles by flame spray pyrolysis of a precursor substance, depositing the sensing material particles contained in the aerosol, in particular nanoparticles of the sensing material, onto the sensor substrate directly from the aerosol phase to form a porous sensing layer on the sensor substrate.

  • Publication number: 20090291024
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a gas sensor comprising the steps of a. Positioning a sensor substrate (7) in a flame spray pyrolysis apparatus (1); b. Generating an aerosol phase comprising sensing material nanoparticles by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) of a precursor substance; c. Depositing the sensing material particles contained in the aerosol, in particular nanoparticles of the sensing material, onto the sensor substrate (7) directly from the aerosol phase to form a porous sensing layer (15).

  • Patent number: 7211236
Abstract: Described is a method for the production of metal oxides by flame spray pyrolysis, in particular mixed metal oxides such as ceria/zirconia, and metal oxides obtainable by said method. Due to high enthalpy solvents with a high carboxylic acid content said metal oxides have improved properties. For example ceria/zirconia has excellent oxygen storage capacity at high zirconium levels up to more than 80% of whole metal content.
