Patent number: 11028874Abstract: A ball joint with variable friction resistance for a vehicle, the joint having a stud with a joint ball which is held in a housing so as to articulate relative thereto. The housing comprises movable and static housing parts that are movable relative to one another and engage on opposite sides of the ball. A transmission is moved by one housing part so as to exert a variable pressure on the ball. The transmission has axially aligned transmission elements, each of which has a helical ball track. The transmission elements axially rest against one another via balls that are guided between the ball tracks of the transmission elements. A first transmission element can move axially and contact the movable housing part. A second transmission element can rotate about the rotational axis which causes the first transmission element to move axially and exert an axial force on the movable housing part.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2017Date of Patent: June 8, 2021Assignees: ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Bernd Grannemann, Lutz Pydde, Martin Rechtien, Jinghong Yu

Patent number: 9266401Abstract: A trailer coupling with a ball support and a coupling ball arranged at a free end of the ball support. A coupling ball holder is fitted onto and can rotate on the coupling ball. A locking element is provided on the coupling ball holder by which the coupling ball holder is secured against being inadvertently removed from the coupling ball. An angle measuring device, provided on the coupling ball, comprises sensors which can detect rotation of the coupling ball holder relative to the coupling ball about a rotation axis. The position of the locking element, relative to the coupling ball, can be determined using the sensors.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: February 23, 2016Assignee: ZF Friedrichshafen AGInventors: Michael Klank, Julian Stratmann, Lutz Pydde, Jens Vortmeyer, Christoph Elbers

Patent number: 7731202Abstract: A stabilizer is provided for a motor vehicle with two shafts (2, 3), which extend in the transverse direction of the vehicle, can be coupled with one another via a mechanical coupling (40) and are in functional connection with wheels of the motor vehicle with their ends facing away from the coupling (40). A first shaft is connected to a first coupling portion designed as a locking disk and a second shaft is connected to a second coupling portion, which cooperates with the locking disk (7) and is designed as a locking device (8).Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2005Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignee: ZF Friedrichshafen AGInventors: Peter Reitz, Wolfgang Kinzelmann, Ingo Mueller, Hans-Juergen Moesch, Jens Vortmeyer, Lutz Pydde

Publication number: 20090127017Abstract: A motor vehicle is provided with a vehicle body (2) and with a steering arrangement (15), which is connected to the vehicle body (2) and by means of which the motor vehicle (1) can be steered. At least two wheels (3, 4) are spring-mounted at the vehicle body (2) and are each connected to the vehicle body (2) via a hydraulic actuator. A switching unit (31) is coupled with the hydraulic actuators (7, 8) and by which the hydraulic actuators (7, 8) can be controlled or connected hydraulically in different ways. A control unit (23) is coupled hydraulically with the switching unit (31) and has an adjusting element (25), which is connected to the steering (15), can be moved by same and by which the switching unit (31) coupled hydraulically with the actuators (7, 8) is or can be hydraulically actuated for controlling or connecting the actuators (7, 8).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2006Publication date: May 21, 2009Inventors: Andreas Hartmann, Lutz Pydde
