  • Patent number: 6456241
Abstract: The present radiator pertains to a planar array antenna for sending or receiving linear polarized waves, with two radiator levels each comprising radiator elements mounted in lines and columns, while the elements of each radiator level are coupled on a central point so as to be equal in phase and amplitude. Both radiator levels receive and transmit mutually perpendicular polarized waves, and each radiator element has shades (6) and a linear excitrated stripline (16, 161, 16a, 16b).

  • Patent number: 6304219
Abstract: An antenna for receiving and transmitting electromagnetic microwaves having &lgr; wavelengths consisting of a substrate layer (10) made of a low dielectric material which bears on one side a conductive ground plane (1) and whose opposite side is conductively structured as micro-strip circuits. The conductive structure (S) has an elongate conductor section (3, 3a, 3b, R, Ra, Rb) which acts as a resonator and whose length (LR) is shorter than &lgr;c/4. One end of said conductor section is conductively connected to the ground plane (8, 1) and its other end is conductively connected to at least another conductor section (2, 2a, 2b, 4, 42a, 42b, 46a, 46b, K) used as an end capacitor to adjust resonance conditions. The conductor section (3, 3a, 3b, R, Ra, Rb) which acts as a resonator is connected to the inner conductor of a coaxial optical fiber and the outer conductor or the coaxial optical fiber is connected to the ground plane (1).

  • Patent number: 6204814
Abstract: A planar emitter equipped with planar resonators that is simple, small in construction and consists of few, easily manufactural components, while at the same time having high frequency dependent system quality with the widest possible spectral range, has a plurality of sandwich-like layers (4, 5, 6, 7, 8) that are planned parallel to each other with the layer (5) being made of two different dielectric materials (14) and (15). The thickness (L1) of layer (14) is greater than the thickness (L2) of layer (15) with layer (4) having a plurality of spaced, thin layer, electrically conductive planar resonators (4) in contact with one side of layer (15). One side of layer (14) is in contact with an electrically conductive thin layer (6) that defines a common earthing member that has its opposite side in contact with layer (17) made of a dielectric material. A coupling network (3) is included in layer (8) and comprises microstrip circuits (3a-3f) in contact with layer (7).

  • Patent number: 5870058
Abstract: The invention is based on a planar concept and involves the configuration of a planar radiating element with the property of generating wide-band electromagnetic radiation fields with circular field polarisation. A wide-band radiating element is developed in which the radiating and excitation network planes are separated and excitation of the radiating element is achieved using a coupling waveguide comprising a group of highly conductive planar elements stacked along the normal to their (large) surfaces above a conductive ground plane; to ensure a large radiation band-width, the highly conductive planar elements are placed well above the conductive ground plane and their highly inductive coupling components (which are connected to the ground plane) are compensated by special coaxial waveguide diaphragms whose ellipticity of the circular polarisation is adjusted solely by circular or square diaphragms within the planar contour, without affecting the radiating edges.

  • Patent number: 5777584
Abstract: The invention relates to a planar antenna 1 having surface resonators 5, which are connected via a supply network 6 to a supply point 7, the supply point 7 of the planar antenna 1 being connected via a coupling element 13 to an electronic circuit 12, particularly a converter, the coupling element 13 being a coaxial conductor in which the ratio, between the outer diameter of the inner conductor and the inner diameter of the outer conductor 17, changes between the supply point 7 of the supply network 6 and the terminal 11 of the electronic circuit 12.
