  • Patent number: 9438324
Abstract: A method for assigning precoding vectors in a mobile cellular network as well as a base station. The base station provides a code book comprising indexed precoding vectors to mobile stations associated with the base station via a downlink channel. A mobile station selects indices of preferred precoding vectors from the code book and reports the indices to the base station via an uplink channel. The mobile selects indices of preferred companion precoding vectors from the code book that shall preferably be used by the base station for other mobile stations served by the base station on the same time/frequency resource, and reports the indices associated with the preferred companion precoding vectors to the base station via the uplink channel. For each mobile station, the base station determines a precoding vector based on the reported indices of the preferred precoding vectors and the reported indices of the preferred companion precoding vectors.

  • Patent number: 9008678
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of grouping a first plurality of cells contained in a subset of cells of a wireless telecommunication network (100) to a first cluster for receiving uplink data from a mobile telecommunication device (106; 200), and grouping a second plurality of cells contained in the subset of cells to a second cluster for transmitting downlink data to the mobile telecommunication device.

  • Patent number: 8040865
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for assigning precoding vectors in a mobile cellular network as well as a base station (21). A base station (21) provides a code book comprising indexed precoding vectors to one or more mobile stations (41, 42, 43) associated with the base station (21) via a downlink channel (1001, 2001, 3001). A mobile station (41, 42, 43) associated with the base station (21) selects one or more indices of preferred precoding vectors from the code book and reports the indices of the one or more preferred precoding vectors to the base station (21) via an uplink channel (1002, 2002, 3002).

  • Publication number: 20090325496
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of reducing intra-cell spatial interference and a multiple antenna mobile station: A base station (21) provides a code book comprising a set of precoding vectors defining antenna weights of two or more transmit antennas (430) of the base station (21). At least one multiple antenna mobile station (41, 42, 43) is informed about a subset of one or more precoding vectors selected from the code book associated with the base station (21). The at least one multiple antenna mobile station (41, 42, 43) comprises two or more receive antennas (430). The at least one multiple antenna mobile station (41, 42, 43) determines receive antenna weights associated with the two or more receive antennas (430) of the at least one multiple antenna mobile station (41, 42, 43) based on the subset of one or more precoding vectors.
