  • Publication number: 20230153307
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide an online domain adaptation framework based on cross-domain bootstrapping for online domain adaptation, in which the target domain streaming data is deleted immediately after adapted. At each online query, the data diversity is increased across domains by bootstrapping the source domain to form diverse combinations with the current target query. To fully take advantage of the valuable discrepancies among the diverse combinations, a set of independent learners are trained to preserve the differences. The knowledge of the learners is then integrated by exchanging their predicted pseudo-labels on the current target query to co-supervise the learning on the target domain, but without sharing the weights to maintain the learners' divergence.

  • Patent number: 8631834
Abstract: The spin improvement string pliers is a pivotally secured together plier device used to manually restructure and roughen the surface of a synthetic or a polyester string on a strung tennis racquet by means of plastic deformation. The line grids on the pliers depress the string, leaving a series of indentations on the string surface that increases the friction between the string and the ball so that the tennis player can more easily generate top or under spin on a tennis ball.

  • Publication number: 20110277485
Abstract: The sports fan cooling station is specifically designed for the sports fan(s) who enjoys outdoor sporting events. This cooling station utilizes the thermoelectric cooler peltier effect and AC power to cool individuals and beverages. The cooling station has a cooling hood that blocks the sunlight and cools the sports fan in a high heat stress environment. It also has a beverage cooler that cools beverages for the sports fan. In addition, the cooling station can be connected to multiple cooling hoods which can cool multiple sports fans at the same time. The cooling station is compact and portable. With this cooling station, sports fans can enjoy a sporting event and not worry about suffering from heat stress caused by hot weather.

  • Patent number: 7503369
Abstract: We have designed a machine for office use called the Electric Paper Reinforcer/Hole Puncher (EPRHP) to protect the printed document. EPRHP is an electric powered device that can automatically apply a clear, ultra thin layer of plastic film on the edge of printed documents to reinforce them, and then punch 3 holes within the plastic film area on these documents. As a result, these 3 holes will be reinforced and prevent the documents from being torn by the rings of the binder. EPRHP can be further used to reinforce large sized printed drawings by applying the plastic film on the edge of drawings. The EPRHP is a portable machine and can be placed on an office desk. EPRHP can turn a document printed on a piece of regular bond paper into a durable document, without deforming the paper appearance or creating any winkles on the paper.

EPRHP can be further used to reinforce large sized printed documents, such as 36×24 drawings, by applying the plastic film on the edge of drawings. The EPRHP is a portable machine and can be placed on an office desk. EPRHP can turn a document printed on a piece of regular bond paper into a durable document, without deforming the paper appearance or creating any winkles on the paper, all while leaving the main body of the page free to be marked up or otherwise modified.

  • Patent number: 5775606
Abstract: In essence, my design for cryogenic grinding and controlling the temperature of grinding makes use of liquid nitrogen, heated in thin-walled metal containers by the room temperature air. The nitrogen gas (or liquid) is conveyed by tubes to a cylinder cover fixed on top of the grinder's grinding chamber. The cover allows sufficient heat transfer and prevents producing static electricity by the spinning particles, and also prevents nitrogen from forming a liquid layer on the bottom of the cover. In my design: 1. The driving force of gas or liquid nitrogen is provided from the heat transferred between the liquid nitrogen in the containers and room temperature air, which creates pressure; 2. The temperature of grinding can be controlled by changing the flow rate of the room temperature air and by putting on or removing the rubber safety plug of one container; 3. Circulating the cold nitrogen by gas natural convection to cool down the motor allows continuous grinding.
