    Abstract: Gel wound dressings especially useful for treating burns. The Gel is obtained by the partial hydrolysis of collagen plus addition of sulfated galactose monomers, pectin and hydroxyethylcellulose The gel is characterized by insolubility in alcohol, cool water and most other organic solvents, with high capacity of hydro absorption. It is hygroscopic, not antigenic, of uniform porosity with physical aspect transparency.
