  • Publication number: 20030196365
Abstract: The present invention concerns a display frame and base which provides for easily alternating the orientation of the display frame with respect to the base between a horizontal display format and a vertical display format, and which frame suggests the illusion of depth of a displayed image. • Patent number: 4841288
Abstract: An illuminating device comprises a housing having a light compartment and an off push-button located on the front wall thereof. The housing encloses a battery powered electrical circuit including a normally-open motion detection switch, a light bulb, a latching circuit, a control gate, and a normally open, momentary-closing reset switch. The housing is adapted to be removably fastened at a convenient location on an internal wall of a home. When the wall is shaken by a major earthquake that is likely to knock out the electric service in the area involved, the initial closing of the motion detection switch latches the latching circuit to provide a high level signal that opens the control gate and completes the electrical circuit to ground, thereby turning on the light bulb. When the earthquake occurs during the night time, the housing can be removed from the wall and used as a portable flashlight.

  • Patent number: 4322087
Abstract: A bicycle handle bar connector is provided for connecting a handle bar to the front fork of a bicycle. The connector comprises an upper and lower sheet metal member, each formed with an arcuate middle portion and flat end portion. The lower sheet metal member has one of its flat end portions welded to the top of a tubular stem. A plastic coating is molded about the back and the end portions of the lower sheet metal member and including the upper end portion of the tubular stem, and a plastic coating is also molded about the back and the end portions of the upper sheet metal member. The inner surfaces of the arcuate middle portions of the upper and lower sheet metal members are not covered with the plastic coating so that these surfaces can engage the surface of the handle bar. The connector is connected by a locking cam mounted on the bottom of the stem to the upper end of the front fork of the bicycle.

  • Patent number: 4144773
Abstract: A bicycle sprocket wheel comprises a toothed outer annular member molded of a tough nylon plastic and a centrally disposed metal spider having a plurality of radial arms attached to the sides of the annular member to add structural rigidity thereto. The teeth of the annular member are formed with straight front and back faces and with sharp corners at the roots thereof. Such a construction reduces the cost of the mold used for molding the annular member since the cavity needed therein for the teeth can be simply machined by use of straight and circular cuts. The inner radial edge of the annular member is shaped by an insert in the mold to form sets of circumferentially spaced arcs, the arcs of each set having a common radius different from the other sets to accomodate spiders having arms of different radial lengths.

  • Patent number: 4122564
Abstract: An improved dual discharge valve unit is provided for easy installation in an existing water closet flush tank. The unit provides flap valves disposed at two different levels in the tank for controlling the discharge of water therefrom. The structural arrangement is such that depending on the direction in which the actuating handle on the tank is pivoted either a full flush or a partial flush may be had as desired.
