  • Patent number: 6491433
Abstract: A vented bag includes a length of tubular gas-impervious material sealed to closure at at least one end thereof by a plurality of spaced apart seal lines each including a discontinuity proximate one end thereof. The discontinuities in adjacent ones of the seal lines are disposed proximate opposite ends of the lines so that the discontinuities, the lines and the adjoining material form a tortuous channel providing communication between the interior of the bag and the exterior of the bag.

  • Patent number: 6170985
Abstract: A vented bag includes at least one rectangular sheet of substantially gas-impervious material having a top edge, a bottom edge opposite said top edge, and a first side edge folded over an opposite second side edge to form a tube. The tube has a longitudinal seam including at least first and second overlapping sheet portions joined together along a plurality of seal lines extending longitudinally from said top edge of said sheet to said bottom edge of said sheet. The bag is sealed to closure at one end of said tube. Each of the plurality of seal lines includes a discontinuity proximate one of the top and bottom edges of the sheet. The discontinuities in adjacent ones of the seal lines are disposed proximate opposites ones of the top and bottom edges of the sheet such that the plurality of seal lines, the discontinuities, and the first and second overlapping sheet portions form a tortuous channel providing communication between the interior of the bag and the exterior of the bag.

  • Patent number: 5365675
Abstract: A more economical, efficient, portable and versatile apparatus for drying tennis shoes within rotary drum dryers, which comprises a fixed main tube (11), a pair of telescoping members (12), a pair of heel support crossbars (14), and an urging means (20) that interact to provide a platform with an automatic compression and expansion range. The apparatus can be used in various sizes of home and commercial dryer drums. Tennis shoes are fastened directly to the apparatus by inserting a shoe toe into a continuous angular loop (18). The user can secure a predetermined size shoe 23 to heel support crossbar (14) by attaching a flexible cord component (19) and heel clip (16). The heel clip (16) is attached to a back spine area of a predetermined tennis shoe, and the resulting pressure leverages the toe of the shoe against a strut (17).

  • Patent number: 5340103
Abstract: A collapsible golf fairway distance marker including a visible structure that can assume two discrete configurations, and an anchor structure. The visible structure is generally cone-shaped when raised and flat when collapsed and is comprised of a base support ring, a spring-loaded plunger assembly disposed in the center thereof, and a plurality of generally trapezoidal shaped leaves. Each leaf has its narrower end captured within an annular recess formed between the plunger top and a cap screwed into the plunger, while its wider end is captured within an annular recess formed in the base support ring. Numerals indicating distance are affixed to or embossed in an upper part of one or more leaves. The anchor structure is connected to the base support ring and is buried beneath the ground to provide a fixed location for the visible structure on the fairway.

  • Patent number: 4757893
Abstract: An apparatus for driving and positively spacing attachments along a moving timing chain is disclosed, consisting of at least three chains or belts and means for driving the chains or belts at different speeds and/or directions relative to each other. Attachment carrying lugs are positively held between a first and second chain for a determined distance over a path defined by the first chain, an then released by the second chain to subsequently move into positive engagement between the first chain and a third chain. The speeds and directions of the chains determine the spacing of the lugs and associated attachments.

  • Patent number: 4558806
Abstract: A closure cap for a container of granular solid contents. The cap has a body and a coverflap. The body has pouring apertures, hinge post receivers and a relief. The coverflap has hinge posts that fit into the hinge post receivers, sealing protrusions that can seal the pouring apertures and a depressable end. The depressable end can be depressed into the relief on the body, allowing lever action. The sealing protrusions and the pouring apertures can be disengaged by application of pressure to the depressable end, and the contents can then be removed from the container.

  • Patent number: 4183279
Abstract: Improvements in a capotasto, also known as a capo, which in its improved form is a variable cord-forming capo, for use in playing stringed musical instruments such as guitars, banjos, and mandolins. On the pin of the device are a number of pivotable clamping discs with a flattened surface on the periphery which hold selected strings against a fret, or release the same when the clamping disc is further rotated. The pin is held in place over the fret board and strings of the instrument by a side-support member fastened to a resilient strap on which there is a series of longitudinally placed eyelets. The resilient strap is placed under the neck of the instrument and holds the pin with its clamping discs above the strings by tension on the resilient strap by selection of a particular eyelet through which to pass the distal end of the pin.
