  • Publication number: 20040250365
Abstract: A tool for removing ice, snow and other debris from a vehicle or other surface has an extension handle with telescoping ends. On one end of the handle there is an oblong head carrying a broom on one surface and a squeegee on the opposite surface. The head is rotatably mounted on the handle to provide both a linear cleaning motion and an arcuate motion.

  • Publication number: 20040238676
Abstract: A hose cart combining the features of an off-set handle, to permit any easier retrieval of paid out hose, a hose tracker, to permit hose to be neatly wound onto a reel, and a storage system comprising a protective housing, to provide storage and protection for a hose kept within, is provided. The invention includes the use of a crank to turn a reel which causes paid out hose to be drawn into the protective box onto a reel. The use of a plurality of gears permits the crank to be offset from the center of the reel, such that it is elevated to a more convenient cranking position. Further, the use of gears permits the same movement of the crank, which causes hose to be collected, causes a hose guide to move laterally, along the axis of the reel, such that hose is neatly layered onto the reel.

  • Publication number: 20040084084
Abstract: A hose cart allowing preassembly thereby eliminating the need for product packaging necessary of hose carts that are sold in an unassembled state. The hose cart employs a unitary frame for support of a flexible garden hose to be wound into a coil of multiple layers by use of a directional hose reel spool. A crank is provided for rotation of the spool utilizing a collapsible handle for windably holding an elongated flexible garden hose, the crank can be attached to the side of the apparatus allowing left or right hand operation. The pivoting handle can be repeatedly moved from a locked storage position to a locked cranking position. A sleeve is used to allow the handle to be turned within a fixed grip of the operator.

  • Publication number: 20040046078
Abstract: A safety enclosure for a powered reel apparatus for use with an associated elongated flexible member. The reel is carried by and enclosed within the enclosure and is rotatable by a electric motor. The enclosure has left and right wall panels, front and rear wall panels extending between the left and right wall panels, and a cover. When one of the panels is in an open position, the motor is operationally locked out, and when one of the panels is rotated into a closed position, the motor is operable.

  • Publication number: 20040005817
Abstract: An adapter cap for a sealed lead acid battery comprises a non-conductive housing having a base perimeter adapted for flush alignment with the top surface of a battery which is dimensioned to encompass the tab terminals of the battery. Conductive material is secured to the housing and extends through a portion of the housing which is configured as a female connectors adapted for sliding engagement with the battery tab terminals to provide an electrical coupling external to the housing. A recharging jack is disposed in the housing which is electrically coupled to the portions of conductive material. The housing including an aperture therein to receive a mated component for the recharging jack, whereby the adapter cap provides a charging connection that protects the battery tabs and a recharging connection electrically coupled to the battery tabs.

  • Publication number: 20030213865
Abstract: A direct current powered hose rewinding apparatus for use with an associated flexible hose includes a removable, replaceable, and rechargeable battery assembly for motorized rewinding of the hose. The reel is carried by and enclosed within an enclosure and is rotatable by either a direct current powered motor or a folding manual crank. Power from the electrical motor is transferred to the reel via an infinitely adjustable torque transfer assembly. The enclosure has left and right wall panels, front and rear wall panels extending between the left and right wall panels, and a cover. When the cover is in the open position, the direct current motor is operationally locked out, and when the cover is rotated into the closed position, the direct current motor is operable.

  • Patent number: 6018894
Abstract: A user-friendly roof rake is provided to readily remove snow from a roof. The lightweight roof rake has a special plastic blade with a rounded contour to pull, curl and rapidly remove snow from a roof. The roof rake-blade can be reinforced with a series of curved ribs and can have an array of downwardly extending ribs that provide rounded teeth to prevent the lower leading edge of the blade from digging into the shingles or otherwise damaging the roof. The convenient roof rake has an expandable multi-piece handle, which preferably comprises a set of snap-fitting interlocking metal tubes that can be readily assembled and expanded for use, and can be easily dissembled for storage. The metal tubes of the handle can be thermally insulated and more easily gripped with a ribbed plastic sleeve. The outer portions of the roof rake-blade can be reinforced by stabilizing struts or braces.
