  • Publication number: 20230292124
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, a wireless access node receives an encrypted slice certificate from a wireless user device and transfers the encrypted slice certificate to a network control-plane. The network control-plane decrypts the encrypted slice certificate and determines a correspondence between expected characteristics and the slice characteristics from the decrypted slice certificate. The network control-plane authorizes the wireless user device for the wireless network slice based on the correspondence. In response to the authorization, the network control-plane transfers user context for the wireless network slice to the wireless access node and a network user-plane. The wireless access node exchanges user data between the wireless user device and the network user-plane per the user context. The network user-plane exchanges the user data between the wireless access node and a data system per the user context.

  • Patent number: 11758373
Abstract: A wireless communication network charges a user for a wireless network slice over a Network Exposure Function (NEF). A network user-plane transfers user data over the wireless network slice. In response, the network user-plane generates session data that characterizes the user data transfer over the wireless network slice. The network user-plane transfers the session data to the NEF. The NEF receives the session data and generates a service charge for the wireless network slice based on the session data. The NEF transfers the service charge for the wireless network slice and at least a portion of the session data to a distributed ledger associated with the user.

  • Publication number: 20230252405
Abstract: A wireless communication system tracks an item that wirelessly transfers a Fifth Generation Identifier (5GID) and a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN). Transceivers wirelessly detect the 5GID and the GTIN and transfer messages indicating the 5GID and the GTIN to a ledger gateway. The ledger gateway receives the messages and selects a distributed application in a distributed ledger node based on the 5GID and/or the GTIN. The ledger gateway proposes an item-tracking transaction with the 5GID and the GTIN to the selected distributed application in the distributed ledger node. The distributed ledger node and distributed application execute the proposed item-tracking transaction with the 5GID and the GTIN to generate an item-tracking result and store the item-tracking result in a blockchain format.

  • Patent number: 11716678
Abstract: A wireless communication network comprises distributed ledgers that host network attributes that have data values that characterize wireless data services. Directory circuitry stores ledger information that characterizes the distributed ledgers and the network attributes. Network circuitry delivers the wireless data services to wireless User Equipment (UEs). The network circuitry generates and stores the data values and their network attributes in the distributed ledgers. The directory circuitry receives a directory information request and selects a portion of the ledger information that characterizes the distributed ledgers and the network attributes based on the directory information request. The network circuitry receives a ledger information request responsive to the selected portion of the ledger information. The network circuitry selects and transfers a portion of the network attributes and the related data values based on the ledger information request.

  • Publication number: 20230239692
Abstract: The disclosed technology provides systems and methods for accelerating communication for low latency, high reliability, and secure machine control systems through encryption bypass. Machine controllers, e.g., drone, robot, or autonomous-vehicle controllers, establish a hardware-based trust relationship with the controlled machines allowing for the communication of unencrypted low-latency control and data messages, for example, via ultra-reliable low latency (URLLC) cellular network slices. The machines can relay non-mission-critical communications via encrypted communication using different network slices. The machines can also use distributed ledgers to store and access events and records used to create and/or maintain the trust relationship, and archive data for subsequent use.

  • Patent number: 11711692
Abstract: A wireless communication network serves a wireless user device with a wireless communication service from a wireless network slice that includes a Virtual Network Function (VNF). The VNF maintains hardware-trust with a distributed ledger. The distributed ledger maintains hardware-trust with the VNF. The VNF delivers the wireless communication service to the wireless user device from the wireless network slice. The VNF generates slice data that characterizes the service delivery. When the VNF maintains the hardware-trust with the distributed ledger, the VNF transfers the slice data to the distributed ledger. When the distributed ledger maintains the hardware-trust with the VNF, the distributed ledger stores the slice data.

  • Publication number: 20230118418
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for artificial intelligence-based filtering of user devices on a wireless network. Upon a request from a user device to access a requested network service, a trustlet executed in a trusted execution environment of the user device is activated. The trustlet provides data associated with the user device. The data is used to distinguish normal from anomalous device behavior. Analysis of the data can be facilitated by an artificial intelligence module. Based on the analysis, the requested network service may be selectively authorized or prohibited. Additionally, the trustlet can be activated while a network service is being utilized by a user device to detect anomalous and potentially deceptive activity.

The ledger circuitry transfers the user message to the processing circuitry after the distributed ledger transaction. The processing circuitry receives the user message from the ledger circuitry and generates a new network packet for delivery to the destination domain that encapsulates the user message. The ledger circuitry transfers the new network packet that encapsulates the user message for delivery to the destination domain.

  • Patent number: 11582636
Abstract: A wireless communication network serves User Equipment (UEs) over a wireless network slice. A core user-plane in the slice exchanges user data with the UEs over a Radio Access Network (RAN). The core control-plane determines when the slice has a concentration of UEs that exceeds a threshold in a geographic area. When the slice has the UE concentration that exceeds the threshold in the geographic area, the core control-plane signals an edge user-plane to serve the UEs that use the wireless network slice in the geographic area. The edge user-plane exchanges additional user data over the RAN with the UEs that use the wireless network slice in the geographic area. The core control-plane may determine when the concentration of UEs moves toward another geographic area and proactively launch another edge user-plane to serve the UEs that will soon need the slice in the other geographic area.

  • Publication number: 20230026264
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, an Edge Enablement Client (EEC) in a UE Gateway (GW) exchanges EDGE-5 signaling with a user app and exchanges EDGE-1 signaling with a Gateway Enablement Server (GES) in the GW. The GES exchanges EDGE-9 signaling with an Edge Enablement Server (EES) in an Edge Data Network (EDN) and exchanges EDGE-3 signaling with a Gateway Application Server (GAS) in the GW. The GAS exchanges user data between the user app and an Edge Application Server (EAS) in the EDN responsive to the EDGE-3 signaling. The EES exchanges additional EDGE-3 signaling with the EAS. The EAS exchanges the user data between the GAS and a network core responsive to the additional EDGE-3 signaling. The core exchanges the user with the AS and transfers network information for the exchange to a Digital Ledger (DL) node. The DL node determines trust based on the network information.
