Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is cleaning article including an inorganic binder, a gas generator, a strong acid having a pKa of between about-3 and about 2, a weak acid having a pKa of between about 2.5 about 5, wherein a ratio of the strong acid to the weak acid is between about 50:1 and about 1:50, and at least about 0.1% water. When the cleaning article has a diameter of about 48 mm and a height of about 21 mm with a recess diameter of about 29.8 mm, a recess height of about 12.8 mm, and a mass of about 40 grams, the cleaning article has a tablet breaking force of at least about 10 lbf and a dissolution time of between about 1 minute and about 60 minutes.

Abstract: A solid effervescent cleaning composition is described comprising one or more acids and a gas generator; wherein a 1 wt. % aqueous solution of the solid cleaning composition has a pH in a range of 4 to 9; and at least one antimicrobial compound. In some embodiments, a 1 wt. % aqueous solution of the solid effervescent cleaning composition provides at least a 3 log reduction for both gram position and gram negative bacteria. In some embodiments, the antimicrobial compound is selected from aromatic alcohols; aliphatic alcohols, optionally further comprising an ester moiety; and combinations thereof. Also described is a (e.g. dry) wipe comprising a woven or nonwoven substrate further comprising the solid effervescent cleaning composition described herein; and cleaning tools with handles.

Abstract: The present invention is a cleaning article including a substrate and organic abrasive particles dispersed on the substrate. The organic abrasive particles have a Mohs hardness of between about 2.0 and about 5.0. The cleaning article cleans greater than about 0.9 panels in 1,000 cycles and has a Schieffer Scratch performance rating of less than or equal to about 3.5.
