Abstract: A cap for a thermometer having a probe configured to be placed in contact with a patients body or to be inserted into a body cavity of the patient and a temperature sensor includes a cap housing, a proximity sensor and a proximity sensor electrical conductor. The cap housing is configured to selectively connect with and to be selectively detached from the thermometer and at least partially surround the probe of the thermometer when connected with the thermometer. The proximity sensor is connected with the cap. The proximity sensor electrical conductor is connected with the cap and electrically connected with the proximity sensor. A thermometer including the cap is also provided.

Abstract: A reusable continuously sealing metered dosing one-way valve assembly and delivery system flows a premeasured amount of a sterile flowable substance from a source which is coupled to an actuator assembly to an outlet orifice and prevents any backflow of contaminants through the continuously sealing one way valve assembly when the flowable substance ceases to flow. The valve assembly includes an elastomeric membrane which aids in preventing any backflow of contaminants when dispensing of the flowable substance is stopped. Multiple dosing of preservative-free flowable substance is provided.

Abstract: A handled laser treatment device provides a plurality of branched light pipes or light distribution tips distributed so as to evenly deliver laser radiation to the surface of the scalp. To make efficient use of each laser diode, each laser can coupled to a branched light pipe with the branches arranged to distribute light directly to the surface of the scalp. Each laser source is connected to a three branch light pipe. Alternatively, each laser diode can be directly coupled to a light distribution tip arranged in a triad. Each light pipe or light distribution tip acts as a tine or tooth in a comb to bring laser radiation to the scalp free of obstruction by hair, etc., with a tripod configuration that allows each light pipe assembly to evenly contact the rounded surface of the scalp.
