Abstract: A swaddling device is described. The swaddling device is Y-shaped pod shaped and configured to substantially enclose a baby. The device includes sleeves having at their ends foldover mitten cuffs or similar selectively openable fasteners. The cuffs allow a caregiver to expose the hand or hands of the baby so as to provide skin-to-skin contact. Alternatively, the caregiver can close the cuffs if scratching is a concern. The device is shaped to provide support and snugness for the baby in its mid-section, while also providing sufficient space for hips and knees to flex. The design of the Swaddle Sack with swaddle snugness provides support and partial suppression of the Moro Reflex without arm restraints and allowing sufficient range of motion for baby's upper section which will reduce risk of suffocation for baby in the event that baby rolls over to prone position, because baby will be able to use his or her arms to reposition his or her head to get access to air.

Abstract: A wearable blanket for covering the legs and torso of an infant includes a sheath of generally planar textile material configured to envelope the infant in a bag-like manner. The sheath defines a head opening including a zipper portion extending from substantially a foot end of the sheath to a head end of the sheath and at the head end of the sheath, the head opening is bordered by a collar configured to encircle a neck of the infant. The sheath defines right and left arm holes. A double ended zipper extends along an edge of the head opening over the zipper portion such that when the zipper is in a fully closed position it draws opposing ends of the collar together.

Abstract: A method and guide for instructing a person in swaddling an infant in a blanket is provided. A first illustration for positioning an infant on a blanket is provided. A second illustration for a first fold of the blanket to cover the infant is provided. A third illustration for a second fold of the blanket to cover the infant is provided. A fourth illustration for a third fold of the blanket to cover the infant is provided. The illustrations are attached to a baby good, such as to the blanket.
