  • Patent number: 6379410
Abstract: An air filter assembly typically for use with truck-trailer cobinations, has separable body and bottom sections, and an elongted threaded member rotatable for threaded securement between the body and bottom sections and for disengagement of the bottom section from the body section for the removal and replacement of a element via the lower portion of the body section.

  • Patent number: 5915408
Abstract: A float valve assembly has a liquid passage with upper and lower ends opening to upper and lower liquid receiving spaces, valve seats about the upper and lower ends of the passage, and upper and lower float valves within the spaces movable into and from seating contract with the valve seats to open and close the passage ends in response to rising and lowering liquid levels in the spaces. The opening movement of one float valve is adjustable to regulate flow rate through the passage.

  • Patent number: 5783758
Abstract: Liquid flowing through a conduit is sampled for analysis by positioning within the conduit a removable liquid sampling device having a liquid sample collection chamber and an inlet to the chamber opening to the interior of the conduit below the liquid level in the conduit such that liquid enters the chamber from the conduit, and when the collection chamber contains a liquid sample of desired volume, removing the sampling device from the conduit for shipment to a laboratory where the collected sample is analyzed. Wet season and dry season water sampling embodiments of the invention are described for sampling water within a storm drain system during high water flow wet seaons and low water flow dry seasons to monitor for the presence of and to locate the sources of toxic substances and other contaminants in the water.

  • Patent number: 5744731
Abstract: Liquid sampling apparatus includes four components, including a cover, a small receptacle preferably in the form of a glass jar, and intermediate and large receptacles preferably in the form of stainless steel canisters which may be assembled in various combinations to form a variety of liquid sampler configurations or sampling devices.

  • Patent number: 5524495
Abstract: Liquid sampling devices and methods for sampling flowing or other liquid to determine its composition. The preferred sampling device has an upper liquid catch basin 40 for receiving a liquid to be sampled, a lower sample collection chamber 20, a liquid inlet 24 communicating the basin and collection chamber, and an inlet valve 26, 28 for closing the inlet against entry of liquid and foreign matter into the chamber and escape of liquid and vapor from the chamber except when the inlet is submerged in liquid to be sampled and the collection chamber contains less than a predetermined volume of the liquid. The sampling device is placed in sampling position such that the inlet valve 26, 28 remains closed until liquid covers the inlet 24, whereupon the inlet valve opens to permit liquid flow into the collection chamber 20 and later recloses in response to filling of the chamber with a predetermined sample volume.

  • Patent number: 5275636
Abstract: A disposable intake air cleaner for internal combustion engines, particularly relatively large truck engines and the like. The air cleaner accommodates engine intake air ducts of different sizes as well as installation of the cleaner on a motor vehicle without precise alignment of the air cleaner with the engine intake air duct and without the use of a hump hose or other flexible air conduit between the air cleaner and a fixed engine intake duct. The air cleaner has a flexible air duct coupling integrally formed, by a unique method, with a sealing bond between the air cleaner housing and air filter. A reusable flexible boot connects the air cleaner inlet to an engine air intake passage in the vehicle hood when the cleaner is mounted in the engine compartment and the hood is closed.

  • Patent number: 4662551
Abstract: A unitary back-pack air supply to supply air to a pneumatic hand tool. The back-pack includes a substantially flat, rectilinear frame defining an air supply chamber and substantially flat vertical front and rear planes. Shoulder and waist straps are connected with the frame to extend over the shoulders and about the waist of a wearer and to support the frame at the wearer's back. A heat and sound insulating and vibration dampening back engaging panel is carried by the frame at the front plane thereof. A mounting plate is positioned rearward of the rear plane of the frame and is connected thereto by shock mounting devices. An engine driven air compressor unit is mounted on the plate to project rearwardly therefrom. An air supply line connects the unit with the chamber of the frame. An elongate flexible air delivery line connects with and extends between the frame and a pneumatic tool engaged in one hand of the wearer.
