  • Publication number: 20150273178
Abstract: A clothing system specifically designed with integrated tactile sensory comfort items hereafter referred to as fidgets. Said fidgets are to be integrated with the articles of clothing to be assessed at wearer's convenience. Said system is to be designed discreetly for everyday wear so as to comfort wearers without worry of appearing strange. The clothing may integrate person specific textured patches, hereafter referred to as texture areas, and fidgets for sensory comfort. These may be placed in pockets, as well as inside and outside of shirts, shorts, pants, and sweatshirts and other articles of clothing. Each of the clothing articles may be of different style and size, and may include one or more fidgets. Said clothing articles may also vary in color, shape, and style to allow for a variety of outfits and choices according to wearer appeal and comfort needs.

  • Patent number: 9003809
Abstract: A method of monitoring a power generation system that includes a steam turbine that is coupled to a gas turbine engine. The method includes calculating, by a control system, a gas turbine engine power output that is based at least in part on a predefined power generation system power output and a predefined steam turbine power output. The power generation system is operated to generate a power output that is approximately equal to the predefined power generation system power output. A signal indicative of a sensed operating power output of the gas turbine engine is transmitted from a sensor to the control system. A condition of the steam turbine is determined based at least in part on the sensed operating gas turbine engine power output and the calculated gas turbine engine power output.

  • Publication number: 20130075756
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a semiconductor device, having a semiconductor substrate comprising silicon carbide with a gate electrode disposed on a portion of the substrate on a first surface with, a drain electrode disposed on a second surface of the substrate. There is a dielectric layer disposed on the gate electrode and a remedial layer disposed about the dielectric layer, wherein the remedial layer is configured to mitigate negative bias temperature instability maintaining a change in threshold voltage of less than about 1 volt. A source electrode is disposed on the remedial layer, wherein the source electrode is electrically coupled to a contact region of the semiconductor substrate.

  • Patent number: 8365583
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention have the technical effect of automatically testing an overspeed protection system of a powerplant machine comprising a shaft and integrated with a safety control system. An embodiment of the present invention may automatically test the overspeed protection system while the powerplant machine is in the process of shutting down. Another embodiment of the present invention may automatically test the overspeed protection system of the powerplant machine by adjusting the speed of a shaft while operating at full-speed-no-load.

  • Publication number: 20120207154
Abstract: A management application can automatically coordinate the decommissioning of ports in a switch, ensuring that ports are gracefully taken out of service without unnecessary interruption of service and triggering of automatic recovery functionality that may occur during manual decommissioning of ports. Embodiments may provide for decommissioning of F_ports only, E_ports only, or both F_ports and E_ports. Where link aggregation is provided for in the fabric, decommissioning of a port in a link aggregation group may be performed if there are other operational links in the group. Decommissioning of a non-aggregated port (or the last operational port in a link aggregation group) may be performed if there is a redundant path available.

  • Publication number: 20120107644
Abstract: An apparatus for the heat-treating of a heat-hardenable steel cruciform article having a weld seam includes a heating element to heat the weld seam to a point that an austenitic transformation occurs, and a quenching chamber to cool the weld seam, causing the formation of Martensite and an associated expansion. The quenching is rapid since slow quenching may allow a crystalline phase other than martensite to form. The apparatus may comprise rollers operable to convey the welded cruciform article through the apparatus at a speed such that the weld seam is subjected to heating for a predetermined heat time sufficient to cause a formation of martensite there within, and such that the heated portion reaches the quenching chamber and is quenched to create a substantial amount of martensite, e.g., an amount sufficient to cause expansion of the part.
