  • Patent number: 5065658
Abstract: A cutter link where the top plate and the side plate of the cutter in the link join through an inclined transition region, and a planar bevel surface produces a cutting edge which extends along the top plate and through the transition region.

  • Patent number: 4594920
Abstract: A grinding machine for grinding the cutters of cutter links. A cam-acting chain positioner is operable to force a cutter link downwardly against a support for the link. To grind a cutter, the chain positioner is actuated to move the cutter and the support for the cutter in a direction causing the edge of a grinding wheel to come against the cutting edge of the cutter. The mechanism is such that the grinding wheel protrudes farther into the gullet of the cutter link with greater movement of the support in a direction producing grinding of the cutter.

  • Patent number: 4418502
Abstract: A support mounting a grinding wheel motor for adjustable movement with respect to a grinding station in a saw chain depth-grinding apparatus. The support includes a threaded element to which the motor is secured, and a sleeve mounted at a fixed position with respect to the grinding station. The sleeve has an internal bore in which the threaded element is axially movable, with the sleeve and element being keyed to prevent relative rotation therebetween. A pair of nuts screwed on the element engage opposite ends of the sleeve to secure the element at an adjusted axial position on the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4267751
Abstract: Apparatus for grinding depth gauges in a saw chain. The chain is composed of plural cutter links, each having a depth gauge and a cutter blade. The apparatus includes a stationary grinding wheel and a platform on which a selected cutter link is mounted, for shifting therewith toward and away from the wheel. A guide member mounted adjacent the wheel is positioned to contact the cutter blade of the selected link, to limit the closest approach between the wheel and the associated depth gauge. The latter is ground thereby to a selected depth relative to the associated cutter blade. Also disclosed is mechanism for positioning each of a succession of such links at a preselected position on the platform.

  • Patent number: 4156949
Abstract: A pipe cleaning machine is provided in which rotary wire brushes remove rust and/or dirt from the exterior of pipes of various diameters. Feeding means is provided for driving the pipe lengthwise while rotating it. Provision is made of optionally usable means for reversing the direction of travel of the pipe if it is seen to require further cleaning after one or more passes. It is a feature that through a simple adjustment the number of turns per foot of pipe advancement may be varied, a feature of importance in relation to different diameters of pipe and to the observed need for increasing or diminishing the intensity of total treatment. The capacity for reversal of travel is important for continuing treatment of the pipe until the observed degree of cleanliness is acceptable. Reversal of travel can also simplify the handling of the pipe for a single attendant because the cleaned pipe can be withdrawn at the same end of the machine from which the rusted or dirty pipe is fed in.

  • Patent number: 4111088
Abstract: This invention provides a convenient and dependable metallic fence, end gauge, and precise length indicating combination for use with power saws which travel through the work. The invention further provides fence sections of several selected lengths which may be combined end to end to provide, for practical purposes, a fence of any desired length.
