  • Patent number: 10064604
Abstract: A fixture for securing a sonography transducer in place against a test surface of a phantom has a cap having a cap surface, wherein the cap is formed to seat against an edge of the phantom and to maintain spacing between the cap surface and the test surface. One or more cutouts in the cap surface are dimensioned to accept the sonography transducer. One or more flexible supports within or adjacent the one or more cutouts are configured to stabilize at least one side of the transducer within the cutout.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 1, 2016
Date of Patent: September 4, 2018
    Assignee: Carestream Health, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20170071468
Abstract: A method records a biometric signal received from a sensor that is coupled to the skin, clothing, or seating of a sonographer and identifies a pattern from the recorded signal, wherein the pattern relates to sonographer activity for an ultrasound exam. Feedback information about the sonographer activity is provided according to an analysis of the identified pattern.

  • Patent number: 9269165
Abstract: A method for radiographic imaging obtains a radiographic image of a patient's chest and processes the obtained image to generate a default radiographic image and a bone-enhanced image. At least a portion of one or more ribs within the default radiographic image is detected and a rib mask generated according to the at least the detected portion of the one or more ribs. The rib mask is applied to the bone-enhanced image to define masked enhanced image content that includes the detected at least the portion of one or more ribs. A composite image that combines the masked enhanced image content with the default radiographic image is generated and displayed.

    Assignee: Carestream Health, Inc.
Inventors: Lynn M. La Pietra, Zhimin Huo, Mary E. Couwenhoven
  • Patent number: 9044197
Abstract: A method for providing x-ray dose information is executed at least in part by a computer and includes obtaining two or more technique setup parameters for a pending x-ray examination for a patient, at least one dimensional distance parameter related to the x-ray system, patient information parameters identifying one or more physical characteristics of the patient, and identifying the patient anatomy that is to be exposed. The projected effective dose value are calculated and displayed according to the obtained technique setup, dimensional distance, patient information parameters, and patient anatomy information. A message is displayed to the operator related to disabling the pending x-ray examination according to the calculated projected effective dose value.
