Patent number: 11909797Abstract: A method for personalizing media content for a user is provided. The method includes, at an electronic device, streaming a first media item from a first set of media items, the first set of media items compiled using a first recommendation hypothesis. The method further includes, while streaming the first media item, in response to a first user request, selecting, without user intervention, a second set of media items, distinct from the first set of media items, including determining a presentation order of a plurality of sets of media items using a heuristic applied to the plurality of sets of media items. The second set of media items is compiled using a second recommendation hypothesis, wherein the second recommendation hypothesis is distinct from the first recommendation hypothesis. The method includes streaming a second media item from the second set of media items.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2022Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Spotify ABInventors: Aaron Paul Harmon, Adam Shonkoff, Bradford Lage, Johanna Anderson Favole, Justin David Covington, Paul Lamere, Timothy Andrew Chagnon, Debra Lynn McDonald, Matthew Julian Seaton, Matthew Budelman, Scott Kagan

Publication number: 20120306492Abstract: A penetration assembly for a cryostat is presented. The penetration assembly includes an outer wall member having a first end and a second end and configured to alter an effective thermal length of the wall member, wherein a first end of the tube is communicatively coupled to a high temperature region and the second end of the tube is communicatively coupled to a cryogen disposed within a cryogen vessel of the cryostat. In addition, the penetration tube assembly includes a telescoping inner wall member comprising a plurality of tubes nested within one another, and wherein each tube in the plurality of tubes is operatively coupled to at least one other tube in series.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2011Publication date: December 6, 2012Applicant: GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANYInventors: Ernst Wolfgang Stautner, Kathleen Melanie Amm, Robbi Lynn McDonald, Anthony Mantone, John Scaturro, JR., Longzhi Jiang, Weijun Shen

Patent number: 5830995Abstract: The present invention is directed to a family of heparin-binding epithelial cell growth factors termed amphiregulins (AR). In particular, it relates to the isolation of AR genes from different animal species, expression of the genes, identification of various forms of biologically active AR products, purification of the AR products, antibodies specific for AR, and uses of AR. AR is detectable in several normal human epithelial cells and in a high percentage of human colon cancers. In addition to stimulating the growth of these cultured epithelial cells, AR may have a wide range of applications including, but not limited to, accelerating the growth of normal epithelial cells. In some tumor cell lines, primarily of breast or ovarian carcinomas, AR serves as a direct growth inhibitor. On the other hand, AR may function as a growth stimulatory molecule in colorectal carcinomas and other pathologies of increased epithelial proliferation.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1992Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Assignee: Bristol-Myers Squibb CompanyInventors: Mohammed Shoyab, Vicki Lynn McDonald, James Garrett Bradley, Gregory D.
