  • Patent number: 7836344
Abstract: A computer implemented method, an apparatus, and a computer usable program product are provided for adjusting a dump file space in a data processing system. Events with a potential to cause a dump are detected in a data processing system. A dump file size is estimated based on the detected events. The estimated dump file size is compared to the size of an allocated dump file space. A value results from the comparison reflecting the difference between the estimated dump file size and the size of the allocated dump file space. If the allocated dump file space is insufficient to hold a dump file of the estimated size, storage space is reclaimed and the allocated dump file space is expanded to at least the estimated size.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 16, 2010
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation

  • Patent number: 7316176
Abstract: A remote monitor system for a longitudinally positionable control bar having position indicating indicia thereon including a housing receiving the control bar therein and having an aperture in a sidewall communicating between the control bar and an exterior housing surface, an explosion proof enclosure mounted exteriorly of the housing and having a transparent window in alignment with the aperture, a video camera positioned within the explosion proof enclosure having a lens with a visual path through the window and in alignment with the housing aperture, a radio transmitter within the explosion proof enclosure connected to the camera and configured to transmit a signal of video images provided by the camera; and a battery power source within the explosion proof enclosure providing energy to the camera and transmitter for providing remotely receivable control bar position indicating images.

  • Publication number: 20060201884
Abstract: A sieving membrane comprises a thin, microporous barrier to provide a high flux. The membrane structure can tolerate defects yet still obtain commercially-attractive separations.

  • Publication number: 20060205990
Abstract: A process for the isomerization of a feedstream comprising C5-C6 hydrocarbons where the process involves charging hydrogen and a feedstream comprising at least normal C5-C6 hydrocarbons into an isomerization zone and contacting said hydrogen and feedstream with an isomerization catalyst at isomerization conditions to increase the branching of the feedstream hydrocarbons and produce an isomerization effluent stream comprising at least normal pentane, normal hexane, methylbutane, dimethylbutane, and methylpentane has been discovered. Without passing through a stabilizer, the isomerization effluent stream is passed to a deisohexanizer zone to generate at least a stream enriched in methylbutane and dimethylbutanes. The stream enriched in methylbutane and dimethylbutanes is passed to an isomerate striper column to remove butane and lighter hydrocarbons and gasses. The remainder containing the methylbutane and dimethylbutanes is collected for use in, for example, gasoline blending.

  • Publication number: 20060205988
Abstract: An adsorptive separation process for preparing the separate feed streams charged to naphtha reforming unit and a steam cracking unit has been developed. The feed stream to the overall unit is passed into the adsorptive separation unit. The desorbent in the adsorptive separation is selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbons having from 10 to 16 carbon atoms and mixtures thereof. The adsorptive separation separates the components of the feed stream into a normal paraffin stream, which is charged to the steam cracking process, and non-normal hydrocarbons which are passed into a reforming zone. The desorbent is readily separated from the normal paraffin stream and from the non-normal paraffin stream.

  • Publication number: 20050023189
Abstract: A reforming and isomerization process has been developed. A reforming feedstream is charged to a reforming zone containing a reforming catalyst and operating at reforming conditions to generate a reforming zone effluent. Hydrogen and an isomerization feedstream is charged into an isomerization zone to contact an isomerization catalyst at isomerization conditions to increase the branching of the hydrocarbons. The isomerization catalyst is a solid acid catalyst comprising a support comprising a sulfated oxide or hydroxide of at least an element of Group IVB, a first component being at least one lanthanide series element, mixtures thereof, or yttrium, and a second component being a platinum group metal or mixtures thereof. The reforming zone effluent is combined with the isomerization zone effluent to form a combined effluent stream and separated into a product stream enriched in C5 and heavier hydrocarbons and an overhead stream enriched in C4 and lighter boiling compounds.
