  • Publication number: 20210055150
Abstract: An electronic sensor capable of determining the level of a flowable substance, such as liquid (including water). Such a sensor an elongate probe fixed within or proximal to a body of the flowable substance and are adapted to output an electrical signal or data that is used to estimate the level of the flowable substance around or proximal to the probe. In one form, the sensor includes a capacitive level sensor probe generally elongate and including conductors configured such that, in use, as the level of a flowable substance crosses a first predetermined point along the length of the sensor a first detectable alteration in capacitance is generated, and as the level of a flowable substance crosses a second predetermined point along the length of the sensor a second detectable alteration in capacitance is generated. A probe of this arrangement is amenable to use in an autocalibration method.

  • Publication number: 20210052106
Abstract: A system for producing a cooled liquid and a heated liquid. Such a system may be embodied in the form of a unitary apparatus configured to dispense chilled water and near boiling water for human consumption. In one form, there is provided a system for heating and cooling a liquid, the system including: a liquid cooling unit having a heat output component, and a first liquid heater configured to hold and heat a liquid. The first liquid heater is configured to retain a first body of the liquid about the heat output component such that the liquid is heated, and furthermore that a temperature gradient is formed and maintained within the first body of the liquid.

  • Publication number: 20210047166
Abstract: The present invention is directed generally to the field carbonated beverage dispensing systems having a replaceable carbon dioxide storage cylinder. Such systems may be embodied in the form of a unitary apparatus including, but not exclusively, on-bench, under-bench or freestanding beverage cooling units. The invention may be embodied in the form of a beverage dispensing unit having a gas input connector configured to make gas tight connection to a gas container configured to hold a gas under pressure and a mass detection device. The gas input connector and mass detection device are arranged such that when a gas container is connected to the gas input connector, the mass detection device is capable of detecting a mass associated with the gas container.

  • Publication number: 20200369505
Abstract: A carbonated beverage dispensing system, which may be embodied as a unitary apparatus including electrically powered on-bench, under-bench or freestanding water cooling units. The system has a dispensing unit including a first source of liquid having a relatively high level of carbonation, a second source of liquid having a relative low or zero level of carbonation, a mixer in liquid connection with the first and second sources of liquid configured to mix liquid from the first and second sources, and a controllable pump to convey liquid from the first or second source of water at a variable flow rate to the mixer. The flow rate of the variable pump is controllable to provide a beverage having a variable mixture of liquids from the first and second sources of liquid to provide a beverage having a level of carbonation intermediate to that of the first and second sources of liquid.
