Publication number: 20050155123Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Forsythia plant is provided that is a seedling formed following the induced mutation of the ‘Spring Glory’ cultivar (non-patented in the United States). Gamma radiation was utilized to create the mutation. The new cultivar can be readily distinguished from the parent cultivar by the presence of a very compact dwarf growth habit with exceptionally short internodes. Attractive bright yellow flowers are formed on an abundant basis. In view of the short internodes the blossoms well cover the relatively thick branches. Dark green foliage begins to appear during flowering. The winter hardiness is good. The plant is particularly well suited for growing in containers. The new cultivar also is well suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in the landscape.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2005Publication date: July 14, 2005Applicant: AGRI OBTENTIONS S.A.Inventor: M. Alain Cadic

Publication number: 20040231020Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Caryopteris×clandonensis plant is provided that is a seedling formed following the induced mutation of the ‘Heavenly Blue’ cultivar (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 1,091). Gamma radiation was utilized to create the mutation. The new cultivar can be readily distinguished from its parent by a more upright and more uniform growth habit, darker green foliage, more intense violet-blue flowers, and shorter internodes.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2003Publication date: November 18, 2004Applicant: AGRI OBTENTIONS S.A.Inventor: M. Publication number: 20020194659Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Forsythia plant is provided that is an induced mutation of the ‘Lynwood’ cultivar (non-patented in the United States). The gamma radiation of buds was utilized to create the mutation. The new cultivar can be readily distinguished from the parent cultivar by the presence of a more uniform and compact upright growth habit which yields a plant approximately two-thirds the height of the parent cultivar. Showy golden yellow blossoms are presented over the entire plant in the springtime prior to the appearance of the leaves. The winter hardiness is good. The new cultivar is particularly well suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in the landscape.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2002Publication date: December 19, 2002Inventor: M. Publication number: 20020095699Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Forsythia plant is provided that is a seedling formed following the induced mutation of the ‘Spring Glory’ cultivar (non-patented in the United States). Gamma radiation was utilized to create the mutation. The new cultivar can be readily distinguished from the parent cultivar by the presence of a wide prostrate slow-growing growth habit. Anthocyanin coloration is present at the apex of the sepals. Attractive wide-opening yellow flowers are formed commonly on a single basis with one flower being formed per bud. The winter hardiness is good. The new cultivar also is well suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in the landscape where good control of plant height is to be maintained. The new cultivar requires no special care.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 18, 2001Publication date: July 18, 2002Inventor: M. Alain Cadic

Patent number: PP15478Abstract: A new and distinct red-flowered Lavatera plant is provided that is a somaclonal mutation of the ‘Breedon's Spring’ cultivar (non-patented in the United States). Callus culture and regeneration were carried out and the new variety was selected from the resulting plants. The new cultivar can be readily distinguished from the parent cultivar by the presence of larger and deeper pink flowers, a compact well-branched growth habit, and the presence of attractive relatively thick tomentose leaves. The new cultivar also is a tetraploid unlike the parent cultivar.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2003Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Assignee: Agri Obtentions S.A.Inventor: M. Alain Cadic

Patent number: PP9104Abstract: A new and distinct variety of Forsythia plant named Courtasol is provided. The new variety was discovered among the open-pollination progeny growing in a cultivated area of a fertile mutant that was created by subjecting Forsythia.times.intermedia Spring Glory to gamma rays. Unlike its parent the new variety exhibits a distinctive low-growing, compact and spreading growth habit. Short internode lengths make possible a dense and abundant display of bright yellow blossoms in the springtime. A mature plant commonly assumes a height of approximately 0.5 meter and a width of approximately 1.2 meter. The new variety is particularly suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in the landscape.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1994Date of Patent: April 11, 1995Assignee: Agri Obtentions S.A.Inventor: M.
