Abstract: A power-operated, floor stripping apparatus includes a frame, a drive carried on the frame, wheels supporting the frame, a handle to guide the frame, and a cutter blade carried by a head which is pivotally mounted to the frame. The head has a lower end to face toward the floor; upper and lower plates carried by the head at the lower end thereof to grip the cutter blade received therebetween; two posts carried by the lower plate to project upwardly through openings formed in the upper plate, and sleeves extending about the posts above the upper plate, the posts carrying exposed threads; and nut members threadably attached to the posts and having wrench surfaces spaced substantially above the level of the blade, the nuts tightenable to transmit upward force in the posts and downward force to the sleeves, whereby the plates are caused to grip the blade therebetween, the blade having a cutting edge directed forwardly.
