  • Patent number: 6026934
Abstract: A hydraulic lift system including a master cylinder, a plurality of slave cylinders, a yoke interconnecting the master and slave cylinders, and a plurality of lift cylinders each in fluid communication with one of the slave cylinders. The extension of the master cylinder moves the yoke, which causes the simultaneous coordinated movement of the slave cylinders. Equal volumes of hydraulic fluid are forced out of, or permitted into, each of the slave cylinders and into, or out of, the lift cylinders, thus extending the lift cylinders in simultaneous coordinated movement. When the cylinders are vertically arranged to support, for example, a work surface, the work surface remains level throughout the range of vertical movement.

  • Patent number: 5382434
Abstract: Disclosed are dry pharmaceutical preparations containing potent steroidal medicinal agents in combination with an excipient capable of binding the agent to an extent greater than 80% and a having a demixing potential of less than 10% for said agent. Such excipients include spray-dried polyalcohols, granulated .alpha.-lactose monohydrate, or mixtures thereof. Also disclosed is a process of manufacturing stable tablets containing nearly identical amounts of at least one steroidal medicinal agent present in each tablet in an amount varying from 0.005 to 0.5 percent by weight of the tablet. Also disclosed is a dry mix consisting essentially of 1 to 100 parts, by weight, of at least one medicinal agent uniformly distributed throughout 2000 to 20,000 parts, by weight, of the described excipients. The mixture can be used to make dry dosage forms such as capsules, tablets, powders, and slugged granulates.

  • Patent number: 5320047
Abstract: A self-releveling, height adjustable, hydraulically operated desk and a hydraulic circuit therefor are disclosed in which the desk top is supported for vertical movement upon master and slave rephasing cylinders connected in series. The desk top may be releveled by extending the cylinders to their limits of extension. The desk and circuit may include a height adjustable monitor support. The monitor support may also be supported for vertical movement upon master and slave rephasing cylinders for self-releveling. The hydraulic circuit includes check valves to prevent the desk top and the monitor support from being raised with respect to the supporting structure except upon activation of the hydraulic pump.

  • Patent number: 4799903
Abstract: A connector plug for permanent connection to a plurality of conductors each having a bundle of wire strands. The plug includes a housing formed by complementary insulating shells which abut each other at their edges. Contact members secured in the shells each include a connection portion for connection within the housing to a respective one of the conductors at an end portion from which insulation has been removed over a predefined length to expose the wire strands. An insulating partition is disposed between each connection portion and the abutting edges of the shells to prevent any wire strands remaining loose after connection from projecting from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4543448
Abstract: An electric cord set having a plurality of stranded conductors and a connection plug with an identifying connection element, such as a grounding pin, the identified connection element being connected to a conductor identified by having a higher magnetic permeability than the other conductors. Preferably, the ground wire is made of wire strands similar to the other conductors, but contains 1 to 3 auxiliary steel wire strands. In a method and device for manufacturing such a cord set, the cord is arranged next to a magnetic sensing element and rotated about the cord axis automatically while the permeability is sensed. The cord is then fixed in a position of highest or lowest detected permeability, so as to identify the location of the unique conductor, and the plug is then connected.

  • Patent number: 4133416
Abstract: An electrical cord winder comprises a mechanical section and an electrical section. The mechanical section includes a rotatable cord drum rotatably journalled on a hollow journal secured at one end to a frame, the drum being axially retained between the frame and a plate secured to the other, free end of the hollow journal. A spring is tensioned between the drum and the frame for automatically winding the cord. The electrical section includes rotary electrical couplings which can be fitted into the hollow journal from the free end thereof.
