Patent number: 9436444Abstract: A method and system of marking the deprecation status of components, such as services, processes, operations, and data types that may be used in a computing application, and displaying this status to developers within the computing application is provided. Components may be marked as deprecated, or they may include information reflecting a sunset policy, which consists of either a specific date or an upcoming version number of the application or programming language the computing application supports. The sunset policy determines when a component has reached its end of life and is either no longer supported or will be removed from the underlying product. Using this deprecation status information, the computing application may be configured to dynamically notify developers of when components will be deprecated. The computing application may further be configured to provide automated migration support by recommending alternative components and assisting in their configurations.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2009Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: ADOBE SYSTEMS INCORPORATEDInventors: Jason Hightower, Chad M. Patent number: 9066820Abstract: The liner or sleeve is for use around a joint, for example, as a skin interface between a limb and a prosthetic or orthotic device. The liner or sleeve includes an elastomeric material defining a tubular member to be positioned around a joint. A tendon is attached along a portion of the tubular member to urge the elastomeric material at such portion of the tubular member to contract. The tendon may be integrally molded within the portion of the tubular member. The tendon may be formed of an elastomeric material having a higher durometer hardness relative to the durometer hardness of the tubular member elastomeric material. With the present approach, it is possible to maintain the use of a two part mold while providing a liner or sleeve with enhanced flexion adjacent to a joint area.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2009Date of Patent: June 30, 2015Assignee: EVOLUTION INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventor: Craig M. Patent number: 8818029Abstract: A weather forecasting system has weather forecasting logic that receives raw image data from a satellite. The raw image data has values indicative of light and radiance data from the Earth as measured by the satellite, and the weather forecasting logic processes such data to identify cumulus clouds within the satellite images. For each identified cumulus cloud, the weather forecasting logic applies interest field tests to determine a score indicating the likelihood of the cumulus cloud forming precipitation and/or lightning in the future within a certain time period. Based on such scores, the weather forecasting logic predicts in which geographic regions the identified cumulus clouds will produce precipitation and/or lighting within during the time period. Such predictions may then be used to provide a weather map thereby providing users with a graphical illustration of the areas predicted to be affected by precipitation within the time period.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2011Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: The Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama, for and on behalf of the University of Alabama in HuntsvilleInventors: John Mecikalski, Wayne M. Patent number: 6587583Abstract: A computer program product for compressing data files representative of an image document. The document includes color information and/or graphical information. The product is on a computer readable medium and includes instructions for causing a computer to provide a first image file at a first resolution and a second image file at a second resolution of said document with said second resolution being lower than said first resolution. The product causes a computer to process the first image file to convert the first image file into a text file representation of the document and compress the text file representation of the document to provide a first compressed file. The computer processes the second file to extract information corresponding to color information and graphics information. It compresses the second file using a second, different compression technique to provide a second compressed file corresponding to the image and the color information from the low resolution image file.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1999Date of Patent: July 1, 2003Assignee: Kurzweil Educational Systems, Inc.Inventors: Raymond C.
