  • Publication number: 20210330457
Abstract: Various features and associated advantages are described for diametrically adjustable support structures, adjustable valve structures, removable/replaceable valve structures, and associated systems and methods. Although some examples are directed toward prosthetic valve that is a conduit having a valve structure, or a “valved conduit” (e.g., used to replace a pulmonary valve and a portion of the corresponding pulmonary artery or an aortic valve and the aortic root), and other examples are directed toward prosthetic valves implanted native valve orifices (e.g., to replace an aortic or mitral valve), the features and advantages of the structures associated with those examples are interchangeable regardless of a particular application for which the examples are described.

  • Patent number: 11090882
Abstract: In one version there is provided a test system including a layup tool having a layup surface, and two fairing bars attached to the layup surface. The test system includes the composite laminate having a plurality of stacked plies, and positioned between the two fairing bars. The test system includes fiber distortion initiator(s) positioned at one or more locations under, and adjacent to, one or more plies of the plurality of stacked plies. The test system includes two caul plates with a gap in between, and positioned over the composite laminate. When the test system undergoes a pressurized cure process with a vacuum compaction, a restricted outward expansion of the plurality of stacked plies by the fairing bars, and a pressure differential region formed by the one or more fiber distortion initiators at the one or more locations, create the controlled and repeatable out-of-plane fiber distortion in the composite laminate.

  • Publication number: 20210162356
Abstract: A magnetic mixing device designed to mix fluid in a reaction chamber and remove air bubbles if present. The device comprises a holder with embedded magnets, which causes movement of a stir bar within the reaction chamber. The holder may be moved by an electric linear actuator configured to generate linear motion or an electric motor configured to generate a circular motion. When orientated so the stir bar moves vertically within the reaction chamber, the stir bar disrupts any air bubbles trapped within or below the fluid.

  • Patent number: 11021310
Abstract: A container includes a multilayered composite film combination forming a bag defining a product fill opening. The multilayered composite film combination includes first and second polymer film inner and outer layers each having vacuum holding properties, and a third polymer film disposed between the first and second polymer films. The third polymer film has oxygen barrier properties. Product is packed into the container by coupling a fill spout of the container with a fill tube of a product filling apparatus, and oxygen is drawn from an inner cavity of the container. Fluidized product entrained in nitrogen and/or carbon dioxide gas is flowed through the fill spout of the container, and nitrogen is added into the inner cavity through the fill spout of the container. The fill spout of the container is sealed while a negative pressure is drawn within the inner cavity thereby immobilizing the product within the container.
