  • Publication number: 20180183646
Abstract: A device and method for frame synchronizing in a receiver of a communication system. The frame, transmitted in a signal out of a J-PSK constellation, J?2, is received including a data sequence, a synchronization marker preceding the data sequence and an acquisition sequence preceding the synchronization marker, and wherein the synchronization marker is searched by using the acquisition sequence. In addition, a sliding observation window with an extended length, being M?N can be used. Also, a buffer-based peak detection to find the synchronization marker in a buffered span of received symbols can be used, in addition to list decoding in order to exploit the error detection capability of the channel decoding in the receiver for false alarm detection.

  • Patent number: 8472500
Abstract: A method of demodulating at a receiver a plurality of symbols bk comprised in a e.g. UWB, received signal y(t), said receiver having knowledge of a time hopping sequence vector c of the transmitted signal, said method comprising the step of: generating a plurality of frequency-domain samples from the received signal y(t). It further comprises the steps of: from said plurality of frequency-domain samples and said time hopping sequence vector c, applying a coarse estimation stage (7) for identifying the beginning of a first complete symbol (formula A) in an acquisition interval; applying a stage for fine estimation (8) of the time delay (formula B) of each symbol bk, wherein k denotes the k-th symbol, by searching a relative maximum at which a signal energy distribution exceeds a certain threshold Pth; from said fine estimation of the time delay (formula B) of each symbol bk, demodulating (formula C) said symbols bk.

  • Patent number: 8259829
Abstract: Method and device for estimating the time-of-arrival of a received signal y(t), said method comprising the step of: generating a plurality of frequency-domain samples from the received signal y(t); estimating a correlation matrix (Formula I) from said plurality of frequency-domain samples; from said correlation matrix (Formula I), calculating a signal energy distribution with respect to different propagation delays; finding a delay value (Formula II) at which said signal energy distribution exceeds a certain threshold Pth, said delay value representing the time-of-arrival estimation.

  • Patent number: 6281846
Abstract: The dual multitriangular antennas of the present invention are mainly used and operate in the base stations of cellular telephony systems working in GSM and DCS bands. They provide radioelectric coverage to any user of one cell which operates in any of the two bands or simultaneously in both bands. The invention provides an antenna having a radiating element comprising basically several triangles exclusively linked by the vertexes thereof Its function is to work simultaneously in bands of the radioelectric spectrum corresponding to 890 MHz-960 MHZ GSM and 1710 MHZ-1880 MHZ DCS cellular telephony systems.
