    Abstract: A method and system for transferring data over a plurality of control lines includes receiving, by a first device, a command from a host device to transfer the data from the first device to a second device; and independently transmitting, by the first device, the data to the second device based on the command, where the data is independently transferred using the plurality of control lines. The method further includes transferring of the data from the first device to the second device performed independent of the host device; and sending, by the first device, a data transfer completion message to the host device.
