    Abstract: A swab for a shotgun having a cylindrical shaped disposable cleaning element removably mounted on a spindle. The cleaning element is made from a resilient closed cell polyethylene foam material having sufficient rigidity to dislodge contaminants from said bore, yet resilient enough not to score said bore. The element is mounted on a spindle with shoulders on the ends of the spindle to retain and compress the element at the ends.
