  • Publication number: 20240144379
Abstract: In an embodiment, systems and methods storing claims on a DSP and a cryptographic ledger are provided. When a provider generates a claim for a medical service, the claim is encrypted using key exchanged between the provider and the payor. The encrypted claim is stored at the DSP at a DSP provided address. The encrypted claim and DSP provided address are stored on a cryptographic ledger as an NFT or other data structure. The payor may retrieve the DSP provided address from the ledger and may retrieve the encrypted claim from the DSP. The payor may decrypt the claim and may facilitate payment for the claim via a smart contract or may otherwise dispute the claim. At a later time, the provider (or payor) can use a zero-knowledge proof to prove that the claim was provided (or paid).

  • Publication number: 20230094889
Abstract: We disclose the use of passive, or field-shaping electrodes, below the surface of the supporting structure of a cochlear implant. The location of the field-shaping electrodes below the surface of the supporting structure, allows for the use of the field-shaping electrodes to exist in the structure without decreasing the available space for the active, stimulating electrodes at the surface. The field-shaping electrodes are to direct the electric currents injected by the stimulating (active) electrodes onto the one-and-only-one neuron that is expected, by the brain, to receive vibrations from one-and-only-one frequency. The objective of the field-shaping electrodes is to prevent, or, at least to decrease, the leaking of the stimulating current from any stimulating active electrode onto any neuron other than the neuron that is directly in front of the electrode in question, which is the only neuron that is expected to receive excitation for that frequency associated with each electrode.

  • Publication number: 20230035981
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software to provide intelligent detection of a user's state and automatically establishing a communication session based on the user's state. In one embodiment, one or more algorithms correlate user data and medical device data associated with a user to determine a state of the user. The system and method also determines an operation to perform based on the determined state of the user. The system and method further automatically initiates the determined operation.

  • Patent number: 10058236
Abstract: A steerable imaging catheter is provided, including an elongated catheter tube, at least one steering cable extending along the catheter tube to control the movement of the distal end thereof, and a fiber optic cable extending along the catheter tube. The fiber optic cable transmits illumination light from its proximal end to its distal end and transmits an image from its distal end to its proximal end. In one embodiment, two or more steering cables are used, and the catheter tube is configured to have greater flexibility near its distal end than its proximal end so as to concentrate the movement (flexing) of the catheter tube at its distal end. The use of two or more steering cables, together with the catheter tube having varying flexibility, permit better control of the distal end of the catheter tube while reducing undue twisting of the remainder of the catheter tube.
