  • Patent number: 12358039
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a bunk assembly for a transit vehicle is provided. The method includes forming an upper shell and forming a lower shell. The method further includes installing a frame between the upper shell and the lower shell and joining the upper shell and the lower shell together to form a support panel. The method further includes drilling a fill hole and a vent hole in the lower shell, the vent hole having a first diameter, and filling the support panel with foam via the fill hole and such that air contained within the support assembly is vented through the vent hole. The method further includes redrilling the vent hole to a second diameter to form a mount hole, the second diameter being greater than the first diameter, and mounting hardware to the support panel at the mounting hole.

  • Patent number: 12276424
Abstract: A fuel nozzle and a method of operating the fuel nozzle, can include a group of chambers located in the fuel nozzle, wherein the chambers can include an inner mixing chamber and an outer mixing chamber. The inner mixing chamber and the outer mixing chamber each can accept air and fuel separately and combine the air and the fuel to form a mixture of the air and the fuel. A first hole pattern and a second hole pattern can be configured in the fuel nozzle, wherein the fuel enters the inner mixing chamber through the first hole pattern and enters the outer mixing chamber through the second hole pattern. Furthermore, an angled discharge can be included with the inner mixing chamber, wherein the angled discharge slows an exit velocity of the mixture of the air and the fuel prior to exiting the fuel nozzle through a discharge end of the fuel nozzle.

  • Patent number: 12250991
Abstract: Articles of footwear include one or more expandable lugs (e.g., inflatable lugs) to hold at least some footwear component parts together. The expandable lug(s) may be included as part of an impact force-attenuating component (e.g., a fluid-filled bladder) for the article of footwear. The expandable lug(s) extend into receptacle(s) provided in a foot support component in an unexpanded (e.g., deflated or low-pressure) condition. Once within the receptacle(s), the expandable lug(s) are changed to an expanded (e.g., inflated or high-pressure) condition. The expanded lug(s) engage bearing surfaces provided inside the receptacle(s) to prevent the lugs from pulling out of the receptacles. The use of such expandable lugs for securing footwear component parts together may enable easy assembly of footwear components without use of adhesives and/or separate hardware components, which can enhance the recyclability, sustainability, and environmental friendliness of articles of footwear and their production methods.

  • Publication number: 20250040661
Abstract: Articles of footwear in accordance with some aspects of this technology include a foot support component and/or heel counter structure that includes openings, voids, and/or grooves around the heel area. These openings, voids, or grooves may make the heel counter structure more conformable, lightweight, and/or flexible. The openings, voids, or grooves may allow the heel or heel counter structure to conform better to the heel/foot of a user, providing and an “adaptive” response, adapting differently to different heels. The openings, voids, or grooves may be customized within the heel counter component based on the shape of the foot and/or heel of the user. Additionally or alternatively, these openings, voids, or grooves may make the heel construction better to conform to the wearer's heel and better to contain and move with the wearer's heel, e.g., during use and to improve flexion, comfort, and fit.
