    Abstract: This invention relates to method and apparatus in accordance with which a PPM signal can be encrypted with minimum complexity, involving converting the PPM signal to an encrypted PCM signal, and converting the encrypted PCM signal to a corresponding PPM signal. Only a receiver with a decrypter employing the same modifying code may convert the encrypted PPM to the original PPM intelligence signal.
