  • Patent number: 7580358
Abstract: A terminal apparatus of a communication system is provided with an MAC section (bidirectional communication apparatus), a PHY section, a tuner, and a back-end section. The MAC section comprises a downstream data processing block having a function of substituting for a portion of the process of the CPU, a upstream data processing block having a function of substituting for a portion of the process of the CPU, a bus data arbitration processing block, a CPU bus, the CPU, and a storage apparatus. The downstream data processing block and the upstream data processing block perform direct data transmission/reception while bypassing the CPU bus.

  • Publication number: 20090070396
Abstract: Tap coefficients for a filter for removing a ghost signal are converged to optimum values in a short time. The waveform equalizing device includes: an initial tap coefficient generation section for determining and outputting the initial values of tap coefficients for a FIR filter and an IIR filter based on a plurality of correlation values; and a tap coefficient updating section for outputting the initial values of tap coefficients for the FIR filter and the IIR filter to these filters and updating tap coefficients for these filters based on error information.

  • Publication number: 20050013450
Abstract: A waveform equalizer includes: a digital filter for performing convolution operation for a plurality of tap values each of which is obtained by delaying an input signal for a given amount of time and a plurality of tap coefficients corresponding to those tap values, thereby generating an output signal; an error detector for detecting an error in the output signal from the digital filter; a tap-coefficient update unit for updating the tap coefficients based on the error detected by the error detector; and an operation accuracy control unit for calculating operation accuracy control values that correspond to respective taps in the digital filter. The digital filter changes accuracy with which the convolution operation is performed, in accordance with the operation accuracy control values calculated by the operation accuracy control unit.
