  • Publication number: 20160187454
Abstract: Invention provides a system and method for separating sound from an object of interest from its background and condition monitoring system and mobile phone using the same. The sound separating system includes a sound source localizing part, including at least one microphone and a processing unit, and an object direction reference determination part, determining, as object direction reference, information on directions of the object of interest with respect to the sound source localizing part; wherein the processing unit obtains information on a direction from which sound arrives at the sound source localizing part from the sound source by using microphone signal, and comparing it with the object direction reference so as to filter the sound from the background of the sound source. By having the sound separating system, it can extract the background noise from a specific device respective location and analyse only these signals from the object of interest.

  • Publication number: 20150293177
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method for diagnosing the state of electromechanical systems in which electrical rotating machinery is used on the basis of analysis of impedance estimated from at least two currents and two voltages, measured during an operation of the electromechanical system. The method may be especially useful in the condition monitoring of electric motors and generators. The invention combines the information from both the voltage and current signals measurable at the motor terminals. Specifically, the measurements of voltage and current from two or more phases of a polyphase electrical machine are combined to estimate the impedance of the machine, impedance being the resistance to the flow of current that a circuit exhibits when a voltage is applied to it.

  • Publication number: 20140324365
Abstract: A method of assessing the technical condition of a rotating shaft by combining measurements from sensors to create the shaft trajectories in three dimensions and comparing them with patterns of theoretical shapes obtained from a theoretical model is disclosed. The method includes measuring synchronized analog vibration signals obtained from sensor devices located close to first and second bearing respectively, and converting analog vibration signals into discrete vibration signals which are converted into discrete displacement signals which are delivered to a computer. The computer also receives three-dimensional theoretical models of the rotating shaft containing patterns of theoretical shapes of the rotating shaft. The computer also prepares three-dimensional real model images of the rotating shaft.

  • Patent number: 5767960
Abstract: A system for the determination of the distance and orientation of an object carrying at least three light sensors from a fixed reference point when the object is irradiated by at least three modulated scanning beams of known angular orientation, and rotational frequency. Timing circuitry located in the control processor determines the time interval .increment.t , between successive interceptions of the object by each of the beams. Knowledge of this time interval and the scanning beams' relative positions and angular orientations permits calculation of the object's spatial coordinates. The optical beams utilized are fan-shaped in cross-section. The method of operation is also disclosed.
