For example, in order to relieve some of the difficulties users face in inputting information into mobile devices which may have smaller screen sizes and may not feature dedicated input mechanisms, the methods and systems described herein automatically populate application-specific information. The methods and systems do this using an application that presents an application overlay feature. That is, the application is accessible while a user is using another application (e.g., on the mobile device) and/or while a user is scrolling through other applications.

Abstract: Systems and methods involving provision of access to and use of transaction card information via system level settings are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exemplary method may comprise enabling a user to access, from a foreground app, one or more system-level GUI elements operable to retrieve card information from within a system-level settings tile of a user computing device, receiving a user request to access the system-level settings tile while the foreground app is still visible/active on the device's screen, providing the settings tile with GUI elements by which the user identifies a card to retrieve and use for a transaction, copying or retrieving the card information pertaining to the user-selected card, and generating one or more app-level GUI elements of the foreground app with the card information to enable an execution of an activity using the desired card within the foreground app.
