Abstract: A medical imaging system capable of providing assistance to a user for acquiring medical images. The medical imaging system includes an image acquisition unit configured to acquire a live medical image of an object in a scanning plane. An image assistance unit is configured to present at least one of one or more reference images in the scanning plane of the live medical image. The image assistance unit also presents at least one demonstration image clip for obtaining the at least one reference image using the image acquisition unit. A display unit is communicably coupled to the image acquisition unit and the imaging assistance unit. The display unit is configured to display the at least one reference image and the at least one demonstration image clip along with the live medical image.
