Abstract: An approach for providing consumption behavior modification is described. Location information associated with a mobile device is received as part of a consumption behavior modification service. An applicable behavior modification grid tile is identified based on the location information, wherein the behavior modification grid tile is among a plurality of modification grid tiles mapping to a behavior continuum space. One of a plurality of offers designated for the identified grid is selected. An incentive message specifying a behavior modification inducement incentive is generated for transmission to the mobile device.

Abstract: An approach for providing a transient virtual shop is described. A transaction request is received, from a mobile device, for a virtual merchant service. Contextual information relating to the mobile device is determined. Communication is initiated with a merchant system configured to facilitate a transaction associated with the merchant service. Transaction data is received from the merchant system based on the determined contextual information. Transmission of the transaction data is initiated to the mobile device for presentation, wherein the presentation includes projecting a graphical user interface to represent the transaction data. The graphical user interface supports gesture-based input. User input corresponding to the transaction is received via the graphical user interface.

Abstract: An approach for enabling contextual categories to be associated and scored in connection with a defined geographic region is described. A transient services platform establishes, based on biometric authentication of a user, a limited session for completing a transaction. The transient services platform then determines, based on a defined geographic region, a context to associate with the transaction. Credentials associated with the user are transferred to the transaction agent based on the authentication and the determined context.

Abstract: A network device receives location information from a user device and identifies, from an index of offers, a set of offers applicable in proximity to the location. Each offer in the set of offers includes location data to associate the offer with a particular geographic location. The network device sends, to the user device, at least a portion of set of offers as a default offer set. The user device store user preferences for advertising categories and presents, to a user, a reality image from the location of the user device. The user device selects—based on the user preferences, the reality image, and the location data—offers in the default offer set that are applicable to a user of the user device. The user device displays indications of the applicable offers overlaid on a portion of the reality image and makes the indications available for selection by the user.

Abstract: One or more network devices receive user criteria for providing anonymization of data from a user device and generate a default workflow for achieving the user criteria. The network devices provide, to the user device, the default workflow and receive user input to the default workflow. The network devices generate and send, based on the user input, final workflow instructions for transmitting data from the user device. The network devices also receive anonymized data transmitted from the user device based on the final workflow instructions. The network devices can provide trend observations of the anonymized data for use by third parties without granting access to the anonymized data.

Abstract: An approach for enabling contextual categories to be associated and scored in connection with a defined geographic region is described. An affinity determination platform identifies an anomaly in a score associated with at least one contextual category of a defined geographic region based on information related to the points-of-interest. The affinity determination platform generates an updated score to associate with the at least one contextual category based on the analysis of verification information related to the defined geographical region and associates the updated score with the contextual category.

The server device also includes a processor to obtain, via a web service enabled by a tunneling protocol, a quantity of power consumed by the smart grid devices and another quantity of power to be supplied by the smart grid device; compare the threshold with the quantity of power; send an instruction to perform the curtailment operation when the quantity of power exceeds the threshold; compare the other threshold with the other quantity of power, when the quantity of power is less than the threshold; and send another instruction to perform the replenish operation when the other quantity of power is less than the other threshold.
