  • Patent number: 7808665
Abstract: There is described an image communication apparatus and an image communication program capable of transmitting image data with the output attribute conforming to the communication charge, and capable of determining the image data output attribute at an earlier phase. The image communication apparatus includes: a signal judgment section which judges specific signals received via a network; an output setting section which sets output attribution of image data to be transmitted for a destination via the network in accordance with a judgment result by the signal judgment section; a network switching section which switches a network for transmitting the image data to the destination in accordance with the judgment result by the signal judgment section. The signal judgment section judges the specific signals after requesting connection with the destination to the network and before establishing the connection with the destination.

  • Publication number: 20060290974
Abstract: There is described an image communication apparatus capable of supplying a user with the information for making a decision in taking a step against the current network quality. The image communication apparatus includes: a transmission section which transmits image data to an external device via a network; a network quality grasping section which grasps a quality of the network; a progress condition grasping section which grasps a progress condition of a transmission of image data with regard to the image data; and a display section which displays the quality of the network and the progress condition of transmission of the image data during transmission of the image data. Further, the display section displays the quality of the network and the progress condition of transmission of the image data simultaneously, and an estimated remaining time required for completion of a transmission of the image data being transmitted by the transmission section.

  • Publication number: 20060224727
Abstract: There is described an image communication apparatus in which the transmission efficiency is as high as possible for the network conditions at the time of transmission, and transmission can be performed using method of coding in which there is little image deterioration. The communication apparatus includes: a checking section that checks a quality of the network; a selector that determines one of methods of coding in accordance with the quality of the network; a coding section that codes an image data based on the coding method determined by the selector; a transmit section that transmits the coded image data to a desired destination via the network; and a storage section that stores a coding capability information of the desired destination. The selector determines the coding method in accordance with the quality of the network and the coding capability information.
