Abstract: Disclosed is a cannula system having a rigid cannula, a cannula assembly and an insertion assembly. The rigid cannula is connected to the cannula assembly. The cannula assembly has a septum mounted to a mounting structure of the cannula assembly, a connecting structure for reversibly or irreversibly connecting the cannula assembly to a cannula assembly holder, a cavity being at least partially formed by the septum. The rigid cannula is in fluidic communication with the cavity. Furthermore, the insertion assembly has a rigid needle at least partially penetrating the septum and an attachment structure for reversibly attaching the insertion assembly to the cannula assembly.

The body contains a mounting structure and a cavity for holding a septum. The soft cannula is threaded on the mounting structure. Furthermore, the compressor circumferentially surrounds the mounting structure and at least parts of the body. The compressor provides an internal material tension for exerting a compression force on the soft cannula and the mounting structure.

Abstract: A skin-mountable medical device having a mounting plate having a bottom side attachable to the skin of a user and a medical module, in particular, an analyte sensing device or a drug administration pump. A snap connector releasably attaches the medical module on the upper side of the mounting plate. The snap connector has a release flap that can be actuated by the user to detach the medical module, and the release flap projects outwardly from the mounting plate and at its bottom side maintains a clearance to avoid an interfering skin contact in use.
