    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a microneedle array-based electrode comprising organic photovoltaic substances, and an artificial retina device comprising the same, and the microneedle array-based electrode is coated with, as organic photovoltaic substances, a mixture of PCE10, which exhibits the highest absorbance in infrared rays, and ITIC, thereby exhibiting excellent photovoltaic efficiency and low phototoxicity. Further, since an artificial retina device comprising the electrode can adjust the generation of current only with light without any wire connecting the inside and outside of the eyeball, it is possible to restore nerve signals by stimulating the retina of a patient whose photoreceptor cells are damaged.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a high-density neural probe including needles having various forms. The method, in which only a photolithography process and an etching process are used, simplifies a manufacturing process of the neural probe, minimizes changes in the characteristics of the neural probe depending on process equipment or conditions, and may thus ensure a high yield, thereby being advantageous in terms of commercialization. In addition, various forms of needles may be manufactured depending on the shape of patterns included in a mask, the height of the needles may be controlled by adjusting the size of the patterns and the gap between the patterns, and thereby, a neural probe having a plurality of needles having different heights may be manufactured.

    Abstract: In artificial vision parameter automating method, the system includes a sensory module, a communication module, a database, an image processing module, a learning module and a automating and storing module. The sensory module is configured to take images. The communication module is configured to be send the data obtained from the sensory module to the database. The database is configured to store the images received from the communication module. The image processing module is configured to convert a selected image from the database into a low-resolution phosphene image, to generate test images with various artificial vision parameters. The learning module is configured to extract important features from high-resolution training images, and to build various machine learning models competent at identifying visual stimuli from low-resolution phosphene images. The automating and storing module is configured to automatically select and store primary test data, based on the learning in the learning module.

    Abstract: A flexible ultrasound transducer according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a substrate having a central part and a plurality of extended parts extending from the central part; an ultrasound probe disposed at the central part of the substrate to acquire an ultrasound image of a region of interest; and a focused ultrasound output unit disposed at the extended parts of the substrate to output a focused ultrasound to the region of interest, wherein the focused ultrasound output unit disposed at the extended parts of the substrate has a flexible property and is deformable. According to the structure of an embodiment, it is possible to simultaneously achieve ultrasound imaging and ultrasonic therapy such as lesion stimulation or removal through focused ultrasound, and adjust the focal position of focused ultrasound or improve the focal sensitivity through flexible movement.
