  • Patent number: 11830334
Abstract: Disclosed are systems comprising: a transmitter background; a receiver background; a plurality of transmitter units affixed on the transmitter background, each transmitting an encoded electromagnetic wave (EM), wherein the electromagnetic wave is transmitted as a wide beam; and a plurality of receiver units affixed on the receiver background, wherein each of the plurality of the transmitter units is in electromagnetic communication with at least one of the receiver units. Also disclosed are methods of identifying the presence of an object intersecting a spatial surface. Further, a housing for the system is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230343191
Abstract: Disclosed are garage door sensor systems and devices that include one or more transmitter sources configured to transmit an electromagnetic (EM) waveform and one or more receiver circuits configured to receive the electromagnetic waveform from the transmitter source. The receiver circuit is configured to determine an active duration of the received electromagnetic waveform in a predetermined detection time window. The receiver circuit is configured to send a blocked beam signal based on the determined active duration and the predetermined detection time window. The blocked beam signal indicates to the garage door motor assembly that an obstruction is in the signal path between the transmitter source and a receiver sensor of the receiver circuit.

  • Patent number: 6237116
Abstract: Built-in tests included in reset functions of single board computers can be rapidly performed to confirm adequate functionality without additional hardware support by disabling an error correcting code function in a memory controller, writing a pattern of predictable parity to a location in memory and reading and correcting the pattern with the error correcting code function of the memory controller re-enabled. Thus, resets caused by, for example, momentary soft errors or power interruptions can be executed within rigid time constraints and thus negligibly short interruptions of processor function.

  • Patent number: 5892658
Abstract: A dual-board host or main printed wiring structure of a circuit module with increased component mounting area is made plug-compatible with a backplane to which single-board host or main boards may be attached with connectors of differing dimensions and pin configurations, the center line of which are offset from each other. The connection sides of the two boards are respectively bonded to a heat sink frame structure having a thickness which corresponds to the connector offset on the backplane such that the total thickness of one of the printed wiring boards, the heat sink frame and the two bonding layers with respect to board to center line distances equals the connector offset on a given backplane. Direct connections to both boards of the dual-board structure can thus be made from the backplane to reduce connection length and reliability relating to a mezzanine board mounted on a single-board host.
