  • Publication number: 20110042026
Abstract: A device is provided for distribution of 2-13% cellulose pulp to a movable processing surface in a pulp processing device to form a pulp web thereon. An inlet box has an inlet and an outlet defined therein. A rotatable distribution means is arranged for distributing pulp along an entire length of the outlet. The distribution means is placed so that a first distance (a1) between the distribution means and a first outlet wall is greater than a second distance (a2) between the distribution means and a movable processing surface.

  • Publication number: 20110005696
Abstract: A device and a method for dilution of cellulose pulp of a consistency of between 20% and 45%. The cellulose pulp is arranged to fall down in a pulp chute during an addition of dilution liquid. The dilution is performed to a consistency in the range of 6-18%, above a level of established diluted pulp in a bottom of a pulp chute. A central distribution device with nozzles for addition of dilution liquid to the falling pulp above the level of established diluted pulp in the bottom of the pulp chute is arranged in the center of the pulp chute. The nozzles of the distribution device are fed with dilution liquid via a pipe that is arranged at least partly through the pulp chute.

  • Publication number: 20100276094
Abstract: Methods for processing pulp in an apparatus for washing and dewatering pulp and a system for controlling this apparatus are provided. The apparatus includes a pair of rotatable press rolls installed in vats and including a press nip therebetween, an inlet for feeding the pulp to the press nip, with one of the press rolls being movable in relation to the other and in which the processing of the pulp is determined by the number of variable operating parameters. The method includes utilizing the distance between the press rolls as a variable operating parameter, setting a desired value for a specific control parameter, measuring the specific control parameter, and adjusting at least two of the variable operating parameters during operation to maintain the difference between the desired value and the measured value of the specific control parameter below a predetermined difference. Systems for controlling this apparatus are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7311803
Abstract: Methods for uniformly distributing a flowing medium to a surface such as that of a rotary liquid permeable roll are disclosed where the flowing medium is distributed by a number of distribution units, the method including distributing the flowing medium to each of the distribution units and separately controlling the flow of the flowing medium to each of the distribution units whereby a uniform flow and an equal amount of the flowing medium is obtained in each of the distribution units. Distribution devices for uniformly distributing a flowing medium to such a surface are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6660161
Abstract: Apparatus for pressing liquid from a liquid containing material is disclosed including a pair of juxtaposed rotary rolls forming a nip, at least one of the rolls being liquid permeable, that roll including an abduction surface extending laterally across the roll so that a portion of the liquid stream pressed out form the liquid containing material passing through the nip runs along the abduction surface, a liquid collector for collecting that portion of pressed out liquid extending laterally across the roll and including a liquid inlet for the pressed out liquid stream, and a return flow protector for preventing the pressed out liquid stream from rewetting the reduced liquid material formed in the nip.

  • Patent number: 6461505
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for dewatering aqueous suspensions including a pair of rotatable rolls forming a nip therebetween, so that the aqueous suspension can pass downwardly through the nip and be dewatered by removing a filtrate from the suspension, and the dewatered suspension can pass downwardly from the nip, at least one of the rolls being liquid permeable, and at least one screen adjacent to the roll and disposed below the nip, the screen is separated from the roll by a predetermined distance and extends along its length, the predetermined distance being a sufficient distance so that a film of filtrate on the roll passes between the roll and upper end of the screen on one side of the screen and the dewatered suspension passes on the other side of the screen so that the filtrate is prevented from contacting the dewatered suspension below the nip.

  • Patent number: 6213632
Abstract: Apparatus for treating an aqueous medium with a treatment fluid including a housing forming a treatment chamber, a rotatable rotor arranged in the treatment chamber, and including a number of rotor rings carried by the rotatable rotor and coaxially arranged at the periphery of the rotatable rotor, a number of stationary stator rings coaxially inserted between the rotor rings thus forming a number of annular axial treatment slots which have a radial size between the rotor rings and the stationary stator rings, the radial size of these slots increasing with increasing distance from the axis of the rotatable rotor, an inlet for delivering the working medium and the treatment fluid to one side of the annular axial treatment slots and an outlet for the treated working media disposed at the other side of the annular axial treatment slots, whereby the working medium is sheared in the treatment slots during operation so that substantially homogeneous shearing velocities are achieved in each of these slots.
