  • Patent number: 8202396
Abstract: A clothing for structuring a wet fibre web (1?) in a press section of a tissue papermaking machine is described which has a three-dimensional woven structure forming elevations (62) and depressions (63), said elevations, like the depressions, are repeated and distributed to form a pattern of polygonal, geometrically similar smallest unitary surfaces (64), each of said unitary surfaces having an area a and covering a plurality of depressions with the mean depth d. According to the invention, the area a and the mean depth d of each unitary surface (64) are adapted in relation to each other in such a way that, calculated by the length unit mm, their ratio is equal to or greater than 30 mm, wherein a is selected within the range of 1.0-3.0 mm2 and d is selected within the range of 0.03-0.09 mm. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a creped tissue paper web by using said structuring clothing.

  • Patent number: 7153389
Abstract: A soft crepe paper machine comprises a wet section with a press section having a press defined by first and second press elements forming a press nip through which a press felt runs with a paper web. A suction roll is arranged in the loop of the press felt before the press nip at a distance from the second press element, and the felt with the web thereon runs around the suction roll with a large wrap angle. A drying cylinder forms the second press element. The first press element is either a solid press roll, a suction press roll, or a variable crown press roll.

  • Patent number: 6325896
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a fast-running, ready-dried fibrous web from a first location to another with minimal undesirable motion is described. The apparatus includes an air foil defining a web support surface which extends substantially continuously from a first processing location to a second processing location, and includes at least two air supply channels extending substantially perpendicular to the direction of web travel across the air foil for providing flows of pressurized air between the foil and the web being, processed in the general direction of web travel. In this way, a layer of reduced static pressure is provided which stabilizes the web against undesirable motion, while the build up of dust is minimized.

  • Patent number: 6260788
Abstract: A reel-up in a paper machine has two primary arms, each of which has an elongate beam that is pivotably journalled on stand members in the reel-up, and a carriage that is displaceably journalled on the beam and has a gripper on its side that faces the surface winding drum for gripping a reeling drum collected from a top drum stock. Each beam has a free end located at a lesser distance from the pivot axis of the primary arm than the distance between the pivot axis and the empty reeling drum located in the drum stock. Each carriage can be displaced outwards from the beam so that the gripper is beyond the free end of the beam at a distance from the free end so as to assume a position for receipt of a reeling drum.

  • Patent number: 6074531
Abstract: A device in a measuring station in a paper or cardboard machine for manufacturing a paper or cardboard web, said measuring station being situated between two work stations and comprising a scanner with two measuring heads travelling to and fro across the web and between them defining a space through which the web passes, driven by drive members. According to the invention the device comprises a continuous, flexible support strip extending through said space between the measuring heads, transverse and parallel to the web from one edge to the other, and drive members for winding and unwinding the support strip onto or off rolls arranged at points outside each edge of the web, for displacement of the support strip transversely to the web in the same direction and at the same speed as the measuring heads.
