  • Patent number: 7150270
Abstract: In an arrangement for handling the fuel in a common rail fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, wherein fuel is supplied from a tank via a fuel delivery line including a first fuel filter, a low-pressure pump arranged upstream from the first fuel filter and a high pressure pump arranged downstream of the first fuel filter to a high pressure fuel rail from which the fuel is distributed to the cylinder of the engine, a bypass line extends from the high pressure fuel rail to the fuel delivery line and includes a second fuel filter and a heat exchanger which is operatively connected to a cooling circuit of an air conditioning system or to a cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 14, 2005
Date of Patent: December 19, 2006
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Michael Hoffmann, Magnus Korte, Ulrich Rieger

  • Patent number: 5636611
Abstract: In an arrangement for controlling the flow of compressed air from a cylinder of a Diesel engine which includes a decompression valve mounted on a cylinder to permit the discharge of compressed air from the cylinder into a discharge passage, the decompression valve is operable by high pressure fuel admitted to an operating cylinder of the decompression valve via a control line including a magnetic control valve for the admission of fuel from a high pressure fuel distribution duct from which fuel is also supplied to the engine fuel injectors via an injection pipe which also includes a magnetic control valve, and both control valves are operable by a control unit which independently energizes the magnetic control valves.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5564386
Abstract: In a motorbrake arrangement for a Diesel engine which utilizes a high pressure fuel reservoir from which fuel is supplied to the injector of each of the various engine cylinders, and each of the cylinders includes a decompression valve which is hydraulically operated for decompression of gas compressed in the engine cylinder during the engine compression stroke, the decompression valve is operable by high pressure fuel admitted to the decompression valve through a control line from the high pressure fuel reservoir under the control of an electromagnetic valve arranged in the control line.

  • Patent number: 5553592
Abstract: In a fuel injection arrangement for a multicylinder internal combustion engine having inlet and exhaust valves operated by rocker arms pivotally supported on a hollow rocker arm support shaft, fuel is supplied from a high pressure fuel pump to fuel injectors mounted on the cylinders through a distribution system which includes a pump discharge line connected to the hollow rocker arm support shaft and distribution lines extending from the rocker arm support shaft to the injectors.
