Publication number: 20230032819Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems and computer program products are disclosed to estimate road surface temperature for a geographic location. Reference ambient sensor data indicative of ambient conditions in vicinity to mobile vehicles are retrieved. Reference roadside sensor data indicative of at least road surface temperature in vicinity to distributed roadside sensors are retrieved. A relationship is established between the reference ambient sensor data and road surface temperature, based on the reference ambient sensor data and based on the reference roadside sensor data. A data structure is created, encoding the established relationship. Further, current vehicle ambient sensor data, indicative of current ambient conditions in vicinity to the one or more vehicles, are collected at one or more vehicles. Finally, a road surface temperature estimate is determined for the geographic location, using the data structure and using the collected current vehicle ambient sensor data.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2020Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventors: Per Olof Magnus Magnusson, Lars William Jonsson, Lisa Ingegerd Eriksson

Patent number: 10721169Abstract: It is provided a method for controlling traffic between a mobile communication terminal (2) and a plurality of hosts (15a-15c), the method being performed in a TCP, Transport Control Protocol, proxy (10) of a cellular network, the TCP proxy comprising a radio side (11) towards the mobile communication terminal, and a network side (12) towards the plurality of hosts. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a communication distance indicator for each TCP connection between the TCP proxy (10) and each one of the hosts (15a-15c); detecting a constrained traffic situation on the radio side (11) for traffic towards the mobile communication terminal; and reducing incoming traffic on the network side (12) based on the respective communication distance indicators, such that traffic is reduced relatively more for a TCP connection with a large communication distance indicator compared to a TCP connection with a small communication distance indicator.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2016Date of Patent: July 21, 2020Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Robert Skog, Marcus Ihlar, Magnus Magnusson, John Orre

Patent number: 7054294Abstract: A code allocation unit (100) of a radio access telecommunications network allocates one of plural Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor (OVSF) codes to a radio access connection for use as a channelization code. The plural Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor (OVSF) codes are defined by a binary code tree structure having a root and plural code levels, each node of the tree corresponding to one code and having a spreading factor defined by its level (k) in the tree structure. When a code of level k=i is requested for the connection, the code allocation unit selects, to be an allocated OVSF code, a free code of the ith level whose subtree structure from the root of the code tree has a largest combined weight. According to the inventive technique, the code allocation unit allocates OVSF codes in a manner to enable users to operate at high data rate transmission/reception.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2001Date of Patent: May 30, 2006Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Per Olof Magnus Magnusson
