  • Patent number: 6445968
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of planning, scheduling and control of the tasks of all members of an organization by an overall manager of the organization through a computer program. In this program, the overall manager feeds in the tasks all of members with each task having parameters that include member's name, start date, estimated time, priority number and weightage number. At the start of any working day, the program processes the tasks of each member in the order of decreasing priority and produces a complete schedule of all uncompleted tasks of the member starting from the same working day. The process also allows new tasks to be added or the parameters of any incomplete previous task of any member to be altered at the start of any subsequent working day before obtaining a complete schedule starting from this subsequent working day.

  • Patent number: 6085482
Abstract: The present invention relates to a truss splice shoe hat can be used to assemble members of lumber roof trusses of residential buildings. The truss splice shoe is a U-shaped plate made of steel, with unitary prongs formed in the sidewalls used as fastening means to truss members. Each unitary prong has an elongated, curved portion tapering to a penetrating end. After arranging the truss members in the desired configuration, only a single truss splice shoe needs to be installed to form a strong joint with ease and with minimum of labor. The truss splice shoe can also be used to repair a distressed truss member or to provide a joint in a truss member.

  • Patent number: 5924251
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved poured concrete foundation for residential houses having foundation walls and built in expansive soil areas. The foundation consists of a perimeter trench footing which is monolithically constructed with a plurality of internal trench footings and column footings located within the perimeter footing; and the perimeter trench footing is integrated with a subsequently-constructed, overlying concrete foundation wall, throughout the perimeter of the foundation, using vertical reinforcing steel dowels of predetermined height at predetermined spacings. This ensures that the foundation wall behaves as a beam in addition to its primary functions of resisting lateral soil backfill load and transferring vertical building loads to the underlying perimeter footing. A plurality of grade beams monolithically constructed with a basement slab are placed at beam pockets provided at the footings.

  • Patent number: 5896716
Abstract: A joist splice shoe for repairing damaged lumber joists of residential buildings. The joist splice shoe is a plate made of steel, which is bent to a U-shape when in use, and has unitary prongs provided in the sidewalls except in the middle portions. Each unitary prong has an elongated, curved portion tapering to a penetrating end. Only a single joist splice shoe needs to be installed to repair a damaged lumber joist with ease and a minimum of labor. When placed in position, the sidewall middle portions and the bottom wall envelop the zone of distress of the lumber joist from the bottom, and the prongs are embedded in adjacent undamaged portions of the joist. The tensile and shear stresses acting at the distressed zone are thereby effectively resisted and transmitted to the adjacent undamaged portions.

  • Patent number: 5595260
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new method of construction of a reusable roofline anchor and its installation between two adjacent roof trusses of residential buildings in order to provide lifeline support to roofing personnel. The roofline anchor is separated into smaller and convenient components which can be easily assembled at the installation location. After installation, the load bearing member of the roofline anchor can be easily removed for reuse at a different location or for replacement subsequent to any damage.
