  • Publication number: 20180199342
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. An apparatus is configured to communicate over a primary channel via a first set of antennas and over the primary via a second set of antennas. The second set of antennas is switched from the primary channel to a secondary channel when the communication over the primary channel is idle. A channel availability checks (CACs) is performed on the secondary channel when the primary channel is idle to determine whether radar signals are detected on the secondary channel.

  • Publication number: 20180035366
Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to determining whether a signal detection function is properly detecting for a signal. In an example implementation, the signal detection function detects radar signals. If the signal detection function is not functioning as desired, communication on at least one wireless communication channel may be disabled.

  • Publication number: 20170034707
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. More particularly, an access point may assign a channel weighting factor to each channel in a candidate channel list. The access point may identify an attribute of a radar signal detected on a current operating channel. The access point may adjust, based at least in part on the identified attribute, the channel weighting factor assigned to a channel of the candidate channel list adjacent to the current operating channel. The access point may select a new operating channel from the candidate channel list based at least in part on the assigned channel weighting factor.

  • Patent number: 9250314
Abstract: Radar signals can be detected by a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) receiver by modifying one or more pattern matching attributes. In one embodiment, the pattern matching attributes are modified when signal pulses received by the WLAN receiver are determined to have an increased likelihood of being radar signals. In one embodiment, a frequency variance of received signal pulses is used to determine the likelihood of received signal pulses being radar signals. The frequency variance is based, at least in part, on frequencies of Fast Fourier Transforms of the received signal pulses.

  • Publication number: 20140315506
Abstract: A wireless device operating within a wireless communication channel can detect radar signals in one or more sub-channels using sub-channel counter information. The wireless device can receive signal pulses and generate Fast Fourier Transform values based on the signal pulses. The sub-channel counters can be incremented based on the Fast Fourier Transform values. The wireless device can determine whether the received signal pulses include a radar signal based, at least in part, on the values of the sub-channel counters.

  • Publication number: 20130128927
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to wireless communication systems having a receiver capable of detecting chirping radar pulses. The systems and methods include processing an input signal to obtain a spectral analysis that identifies which frequency exhibits maximum signal magnitude at a given time and determines a rate of change that frequency. By determining that the rate of change is within parameters established by the pulse width range and the chirping bandwidth range, the signal can be identified as a chirping radar pulse. By comparing the rate of change to known characteristics, the signal can be identified as a chirping radar pulse. Suitable characteristics include parameters for the rate of change established by the pulse width range and the chirping bandwidth range and linearity of the rate of change.
