  • Patent number: 11689849
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer-readable media to manage undesired sound sources in microphone pickup/focus zones preferably mitigates one or more of the undesired sound source(s) in a space having a plurality of microphones and at least one desired sound source. Preferably, at least one microphone input receives plural microphone input signals from the plurality of microphones in the space. Preferably, the least one processor is coupled to the at least one microphone input and receives the plural microphone input signals. Preferably, the at least one processor determines plural micro-zones in the space. Preferably, the at least one processor determines a threshold sound field level for each micro-zone based on received plural microphone input signals that correspond to the one or more undesired sound source(s). Preferably, the at least one processor recognizes a desired sound source when received plural microphone input signals exceed one or more threshold sound field level.

  • Publication number: 20220360895
Abstract: An integrated audio microphone system simultaneously provides in-room amplification and remote communication during a collaboration session with one or more local participants in a shared space and one or more remote participants. The integrated audio microphone system includes at least one microphone array and speaker system located in the shared space, at least one microphone system for amplification located in the shared space, an audio processor connected to the microphone system and the microphone array and speaker system, and a computer connected to the audio processor. The audio processor is configured to generate a plurality of virtual microphone bubbles and to amplify received audio signals from the microphone system for in-room audio amplification. The amplified audio signals are output to speakers of the microphone array and speaker system. Audio signals from the microphone system and the arrays of microphones are output to the computer to send the audio signals to one or more remote participants.

  • Publication number: 20220116702
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer-readable media focusing sound signals from plural microphones in a 3D space, to determine audio signal processing profiles to optimize sound source(s) in the space. At least one processor determines plural virtual microphone bubbles in the space, and defines one or more bubble object profiles which comprise(s) specific attributes and functions of audio processing functions for each bubble, each bubble object profile including: (a) an individual bubble object profile when the bubble has been configured for an individual bubble; (b) a region object profile when the bubble has been configured for a region of one or more bubbles; and (c) a group object profile when the bubble has been configured for a group having one or more bubbles. The audio signal processing functions are used for the at least one bubble, for any combination of (a), (b), and (c).

  • Patent number: 11297178
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and program code embodied in computer-readable media, for providing enhanced echo suppression in a conferencing system having at least one microphone and at least one speaker. At least one microphone input signal is received, and at least one speaker input signal is provided. At least one processor has at least one primary echo-suppressor and at least one secondary echo-suppressor. The at least one primary echo-suppressor receives (i) the microphone input signal(s) and (ii) the speaker input signal(s). The at least one primary echo-suppressor provides at least one echo-suppressed microphone signal. The at least one secondary echo-suppressor receives the at least one echo-suppressed microphone signal and provides an output signal. The at least one processor provides the at least one echo-suppressed microphone signal to the at least one secondary echo-suppressor without providing the at least one speaker input signal directly to the at least one secondary echo-suppressor.

  • Patent number: 10088550
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for updating the location information for a gas detector device. A gas detector device may comprise a wireless scanner operable to receive information from one or more passive tags. In some cases, the passive tags may comprise location information. When the gas detector scans a passive tag, the location information stored on the gas detector may be updated accordingly. In some cases, the subsequent readings of the gas detector may be associated with the updated location information. • Patent number: 9858803
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for indicating when a gas detector is out of compliance. A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enabled wireless gas-detector may allow for an advertisement packet to be transmitted from the gas detector. This advertisement packet may contain information about the gas detector to allow remote auditing from any BLE enabled remote listening device. This auditor device may be in the form of a mobile device, such as a cell phone or tablet, a fixed location auditor device, or any other BLE enabled device.

  • Patent number: 9743221
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for user association with a gas detector using passive NFC tags. Applicants propose a gas detector with a near-field communication (NFC) reader built into the gas detector, thereby allowing the user to scan their employee identification (ID) badge or a specialized individualized NFC tag. In some embodiments, an NFC tag may be attached to an employee ID badge. The gas detector may communicate via NFC with the badge and/or tag, and may recognize the badge and/or tag as associated with a specific user. When the user starts their shift, the gas detector with an NFC reader can scan the tag and associate the user with the detector and store the information in a log for archival purposes. This process can be completed by the user, and does not require connecting the gas detector to a computer to provide the association.

  • Patent number: 9705570
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for configuring a gas detector using near-field communication (NFC). A gas detector may be equipped with an NFC reader that will allow the gas detector to scan and read NFC tags. Compatible NFC tags may be acquired and programmed with the configuration settings information. The NFC tag may then be attached to a poster with instructions that show where to place the detector in order to confirm their device's configuration. When the detector is placed in the appropriate location near the tag on the poster, the detector may receive information from the NFC tag, implement the configuration settings, and possibly display a confirmation message to the user. The NFC tag may also be attached to a card carried by a monitor for that work area.
