  • Publication number: 20230342913
Abstract: Techniques are described for generating high quality training data collections for training artificial intelligence (AI) models in the medical imaging domain. A method embodiment comprises receiving, by a system comprising processor, input indicating a clinical context associated with usage of a medical image dataset, and selecting, by the system, one or more data scrutiny metrics for filtering the medical image dataset based on the clinical context. The method further comprises applying, by the system, one or more image processing functions to the medical image dataset to generate metric values of the one or more data scrutiny metrics for respective medical images included in the medical image dataset, filtering, by the system, the medical image dataset into one or more subsets based on one or more acceptability criteria for the metric values.

  • Publication number: 20220087644
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for dynamically adjusting user guidance based on a user's proficiency by tracking the same. In one example, a proficiency score for a user may be tracked over time and practice based on a pre-defined rubric for a given anatomical region and a given anatomical target within the anatomical region. During medical imaging, based on the proficiency score of the user, an amount of user guidance that is provided to the user may be adjusted. For example, user guidance may be automatically activated to guide the user during the imaging procedure when the proficiency score of the user is less than a threshold score.

  • Patent number: 10665133
Abstract: A system and method for simulating an ultrasound scanning session is provided. The method includes acquiring an image of at least a portion of a simulated scan surface by a camera. A probe simulator having a visually coded pattern is maneuvered on the simulated scan surface. The method includes analyzing the acquired image to identify the visually coded pattern of the probe simulator maneuvered on the simulated scan surface. The method includes determining a position and orientation of the probe simulator based on the visually coded pattern identified in the acquired image. The method includes estimating a scan plane based at least in part on the determined position and orientation of the probe simulator. The method includes retrieving an ultrasound image from storage. The ultrasound image corresponds with the estimated scan plane. The method includes presenting the retrieved ultrasound image at a display system.

  • Patent number: 9834882
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a heat pump based dryer or a combination washer and dryer device comprising a housing receiving a drum for containing associated articles to be dried by air that flows along a pathway between an outlet and an inlet of the housing. A fluid is provided in the pathway to at least partially remove moisture from the air. A heat pump includes a heat source located at least partially within the pathway and a heat sink being operatively adapted to the heat source to circulate a refrigerant therein. An enclosure at least partially containing the heat sink is arranged to accept the fluid from the pathway to exchange heat with the heat sink and return the fluid to the pathway. Fluid may be provided to the pathway by a spray nozzle adjacent the outlet or by an evaporative media downstream of a lint separator.

  • Patent number: 9078597
Abstract: A mobile x-ray imaging unit with an integrated x-ray shield is disclosed. The mobile x-ray imaging unit includes a base, a column structure extending upwardly from the base, a horizontal arm mounted on the column structure, and an x-ray source positioned on the horizontal arm, with the x-ray source configured to generate x-ray radiation for acquisition of an x-ray image. The mobile x-ray imaging unit also includes an x-ray shield extending upwardly from the base on a side of the column structure opposite the x-ray source that is configured to attenuate x-ray radiation generated by the x-ray source, wherein at least a portion of the x-ray shield is formed of an optically transparent material and wherein the x-ray shield is sized so as to provide x-ray shielding to an operator when the operator is in a standing position.
